  • Patent number: 9108742
Abstract: An example ram air turbine stow abort assembly includes a release pin movable between an engaged position that prevents rotation of a drive shaft and a released position that allows rotation of the drive shaft. A release lever is rotatable about an axis in response to the release pin being in the engaged position or the released position. A pawl has a link to the release lever. The link causes the pawl to move toward the axis from a locking position to a clearance position. The pawl is positioned to engage a lock when in the locking position to prevent movement of the ram air turbine assembly to a stowed position when the turbine blades are misaligned.

Abstract: An assembly includes an actuator assembly having a housing, a piston positioned at least partially within the housing and movable relative to the housing for an overall actuation stroke, a first spring operatively engaged between the piston and the housing to provide actuation biasing force therebetween, a second spring operatively engaged with the piston, and a spring guide. The spring guide is operatively engaged with the first spring and operatively engaged with the piston via a sliding connection. The spring guide is further configured to limit a stroke of the first spring such that the first spring contributes actuation biasing force between the piston and the housing for only a fractional portion of the overall actuation stroke of the piston.

  • Patent number: 8960533
Abstract: A secure asset storage and transfer system. A first display displays a first bar code encoding a request message including an asset value amount to be transferred. A first camera-equipped device is configured for: reading the first bar code, decoding the first bar code to recover the request message; generating a value transfer message for transferring asset value amount to be transferred from a storage medium associated with the camera-equipped device; encoding the value transfer message to generate a corresponding second bar code; and displaying the second bar code on a second display. A second camera-equipped device is configured for reading the second bar code, and decoding the second bar code to recover the value transfer message.

  • Patent number: 8805834
Abstract: A data mashup system having information extraction capabilities for receiving multiple streams of textual data, at least one of which contains unstructured textual data. A repository stores annotators that describe how to analyze the streams of textual data for specified unstructured data components. The annotators are applied to the data streams to identify and extract the specified data components according to the annotators. The extracted data components are tagged to generate structured data components and the specified unstructured data components in the input data streams are replaced with the tagged data components. The system then combines the tagged data from the multiple streams to form a mashup output data stream.

  • Publication number: 20140095279
Abstract: An Internet marketing venue focused around a Web-based casual game. The game is an entertainment site designed for simplicity of play with low commitment. Sponsors provide prizes and rewards, which are made available to the highest-scoring players. These winners select the prizes they most prefer, while non-winners earn points to be “spent” on rewards they choose. In this way, sponsors are connected to customers with both a proven interest and emotional investment in their products.
