  • Patent number: 9798318
Abstract: A system may include a controller that may control operations of a device according to a control loop and characterize a frequency response of the device while the device is operating. The controller may characterize the frequency response by adding a perturbation signal to any signal in the control loop. The controller may then determine a first transformed signal by performing a first discrete Fourier transform on a first signal in the control loop at a frequency of the perturbation signal and determine a second transformed signal by performing a second discrete Fourier transform on a second signal in the control loop at the frequency of the perturbation signal. The controller may then determine the frequency response at the frequency by comparing a first amplitude and a first phase of the first transformed signal to a second amplitude and a second phase of the second transformed signal.

  • Publication number: 20130262873
Abstract: A user of a mobile device can be authenticated based on multiple factors including biometric data of the user. During an enrollment process of the user, an encryption key is sent to the mobile device via a message. The encryption key is recovered from the message and used to encrypt communications between the mobile device and a server. Biometric data is collected from the user and sent to the server for computing a biometric model (e.g., a voice model, etc.) of the user for later use in authentication. An encrypted biometric model is stored only in the mobile device and the encrypted biometric model is sent to the server for authentication of the user. For authentication, various information including an identification of the mobile device, responses to challenge questions, biometric data including the biometric model, etc. are used at the server.

  • Patent number: 5826758
Abstract: A flow control nozzle for dispensing bakery mix material includes an elongated member having a flow channel formed therein. A cross member has a channel in flow communication with the flow channel of the elongated tubular member. A plunger having an actuating portion is slidably disposed in the cross member channel and is slidable between a flow blocking position to a position where material is allowed to flow from the tubular member outlet. A handle is positioned for contacting the actuating portion of the plunger to control plunger movement.

  • Patent number: 5634574
Abstract: The present invention, in one form thereof, is an ergonomically useful dispensing assembly including a short dispensing tube adapted to be coupled at its inlet to a mixing bowl outlet. The outlet of the dispensing tube is coupled, for example, to a nozzle. A piston disposed within the tube has seals, such as O-rings which are sized to contact the interior surface of the dispensing tube along the length of the tube as the piston moves within the tube. The piston is constructed so that as the piston travels within the tube and from the tube inlet to the tube outlet, mix is forced through the outlet and mix is drawn into the tube through the tube inlet. As the piston travels from the tube outlet to the tube inlet, mix disposed within the tube travels through the piston. A check valve disposed adjacent the bowl outlet prevents backflow of mix from the tube into the bowl. The dispensing tube piston is driven by a dual piston-cylinder drive unit. The stroke length of the dual pistons is controllable.

  • Patent number: 3952263
Abstract: A laser system and method for exciting lasing action in a molecular gas lasing medium which includes cooling the lasing medium to a temperature below about 150 K and injecting fission fragments through the lasing medium so as to preferentially excite low lying vibrational levels of the medium and to cause population inversions therein. The cooled gas lasing medium should have a mass areal density of about 5 .times. 10.sup.-.sup.3 grams/square centimeter, relaxation times of greater than 50 microseconds, and a broad range of excitable vibrational levels which are excitable by molecular collisions.
