  • Patent number: 11981999
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to semiconductor processing, and specifically to methods and apparatus for surface modification of substrates. In an embodiment, a substrate modification method is provided. The method includes positioning a substrate within a processing chamber; and depositing a material on a portion of the substrate by a deposition process, wherein the deposition process comprises: thermally heating the substrate to a temperature of less than about 500° C.; delivering a first electromagnetic energy from an electromagnetic energy source to the substrate to modify a first region of the substrate, the first region of the substrate being at or near an upper surface of the substrate; and depositing a first material on the first region while delivering the first electromagnetic energy.

  • Patent number: 7256172
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a method of inducing, stimulating or otherwise facilitating bronchoprotection in humans and animals by modulating bronchial constriction and/or inflammation. The present invention is predicated in part on the identification of receptors in airway epithelium which mediate inhibition of bronchoconstriction and/or inflammation following their activation. More particularly, the present invention identifies that activation of protease activated receptors (PARs) results in relaxation of airway epithelium. Activation of airway epithelium PARs inhibits bronchoconstriction and/or inflammation and thereby mediates bronchoprotection of the airways. The present invention further provides a method for the prophylaxis and treatment of disease conditions in airways such as asthma and bronchitis and further provides methods for the diagnosis and screening of agents useful in the prophylaxis and treatment of airway disease conditions.

  • Patent number: 4337508
Abstract: An incandescent lamp fixture includes an incandescent lamp screwed into a plastic lamp socket, a metallic heat dissipater in intimate heat transfer contact with the socket and having heat dissipating fins extending out from the socket. A metallic reflector surrounds the lamp and is mounted on the dissipater in heat transfer contact with it. An open-ended cylindrical lamp shade is connected to the heat dissipater and is in spaced, concentric relation to the dissipater, socket and lamp to permit free flow of air heated by the fixture to pass between the outside of the reflector and through the fins of the dissipater on the one side and the interior of the shade on the other. This will keep the temperature of the lamp base below the breakdown temperature of the socket and switch and below the breakdown temperature of the cement between the lamp base and the lamp bulb. A switch assembly includes a switch base mounted to the lamp socket and incoming power wires mounted directly on the switch base.
