  • Patent number: 11445997
Abstract: Systems and methods for accurately measuring changes in biomarker sensitive hydrogel volume and shape due to exposure to various biomarkers include a system for identifying one or more dimensional changes in a biomarker sensitive hydrogel positioned within an in vivo environment. The system includes a biomarker sensitive hydrogel positioned within an in vivo environment and configured to dimensionally change in response to interaction with predefined biomarkers. The system additionally includes an ultrasound transducer for locating and identifying one or more characteristics of the biomarker sensitive hydrogel and a computer system in electrical communication with the ultrasound transducer. The computer system is configured to receive characteristics of the biomarker sensitive hydrogel from the ultrasound transducer and determine dimensional changes of the biomarker sensitive hydrogel based on the received characteristics.

  • Patent number: 8297447
Abstract: A dual-side cleaning traversing screen filtration system which generally comprises a main trough water containment housing, a traversing manifold having a multitude of top and bottom disposed spray heads, flexible plumbing, a substantially planar, rectangular supported screen which is disposed over, and spans the opening of, the main trough water containment housing which, in the preferred embodiment, has a rectangular box like shape, with the combined assemblage functioning as a filter to separate unwanted debris from the water that passes through the screen into the slightly inclined main trough water containment housing where it can be continually removed and re-used.

  • Publication number: 20100192984
Abstract: A bin washer device disposed along a conveyor that moves bins, includes a support and at least two bin holders, preferably three bin holders, rotatably supported on the support above the conveyor. Two left sprays are provided outside the path of the bin holders and at angles that are perpendicular to one another. Similarly, two right sprays are provided outside the path and at angles perpendicular to one another. The right sprays minor the left sprays whereby that all sides of a bin are washed. A method includes stopping rotation of the support, discharging a bin from a first bin holder and receiving a bin into the first bin holder. The support is then rotated and the bins in the bin holders are washed. The support is again stopped and a bin a discharged from a second bin holder, and a next bin is received in the second bin holder. The support is then rotated and the bins in the bin holders are washed. These steps are repeated for each bin holder and/or until all of the bins have been washed.

  • Publication number: 20060229779
Abstract: A vehicle has a safe and a utility device operable for performing a task having a result capable of being measured. A local processor is associated with local storage, each of which is housed in a safe preventing access thereto. An operator input console associated with the local storage is carried by the vehicle and is disposed outside the safe. A positioning system associated with the local processor generates position information of the vehicle during operation of the utility device. A sensor associated with the utility device and the local processor generates result information of the result of the operation of the utility device. The local processor stores in the local storage the position information, the result information, and the operator input information. The operator input console and the local processor are adapted and arranged preventing access to the local storage in response to operation of the operator input console.

  • Patent number: 6860129
Abstract: A lock mechanism operated by inner and outer lever handles provides a security classroom function and includes inner and outer lock mechanisms that are independently switchable between locked and unlocked states by inner and outer lock cylinders and keys. The inner handle always operates the lock mechanism to retract a latch bolt. The outer handle can only retract the latch bolt when both the inner and outer lock mechanisms are in the unlocked state. The outer key can retract the latch bolt when the inner lock mechanism is in the locked state, but cannot change the inner lock mechanism to the unlocked state or enable the outer handle, thereby ensuring positive control over the locked state of the outer handle from the inner side.

  • Patent number: 6811632
Abstract: A method and apparatus for welding thermoplastic materials with a stir welding system using a rotating element pin or element with a geometry to induce frictional energy from the rotating element. A floating constraining surface that has a motion independent of the rotation the pin (preferably stationary) is used to constrain ejection of material from the zone where the weld is being formed. Molten material is retained in the weld region, avoiding weakness and voids at the weld joint. Optionally a system for introducing thermal energy into the weld zone in addition to the frictional energy is used. The system for introducing the thermal energy may be in association with the constraining shoe and/or the rotating tool, or a system independent of these.
