    Abstract: A method for automated computerized audio visual dubbing of a movie comprises (i) generating a three-dimensional head model of an actor in a movie, the head model being representative of specific facial features of the actor, and (ii) generating a three-dimensional head model of a dubber making target sounds for the actor, the dubber head model being representative of specific facial features of the dubber, as the target sounds are made. The method also comprises modifying at least a portion of the specific facial features of the actor head model according to the dubber head model such that the actor appears to be producing target sounds made by the dubber.

The invention uses a method of vicinity-searching, three-dimensional head modeling of the original speaker (3), and texture mapping (10) technique to produce new images which correspond to the dubbed sound track: The invention thus overcomes the well known disadvantage of the correlation problems between lip movement in an original movie and the sound track of the dubbed movie.

The hydophobicity/hydrophilicity character of the sol-gel microcapsules can be controlled by selecting suitable sol-gel precursors and suitable reaction conditions and can be chosen to be compatible with the cosmetic vehicle to be used in the sunscreen composition, thus, the present invention facilitates an easy incorporation of the composite sol-gel encapsulated sunscreen in all types of cosmetic vehicles including oil free compositions, with no necessary steps of heating or high shear forces.

The microcapsules have a diameter of approximately 0.1 to 100 micron. The core of each microcapsule includes at least one active ingredient and is encapsulated within a microcapsular shell. The shell is comprised of at least one inorganic polymer obtained by a sol-gel process, and the shell protects the active ingredient before topical application and is designed to release the active ingredient from the microcapsules following application. The composition is useful in encapsulating active ingredients, such as benzoyl peroxide, that are unstable in other formulation, or are irritating to the skin.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel process for preparing sol-gel microcapsules loaded with up to 95% (w/w) functional molecules or substances and to the products obtained by said process. Said process is conducted in two steps: (a) creating an oil-in-water emulsion by emulsification of a water insoluble solution comprising the sol-gel precursors and the molecules to be loaded, in an aqueous solution under appropriate shear forces; (b) mixing and stirring said emulsion with an aqueous solution at a suitably selected pH to obtain loaded sol-gel microcapsules in suspension. The microcapsules so obtained can further be subjected to cycles of isolation and rinsing. Incorporation of the final product, either in the form of a suspension or a powder, in cosmetic formulations affords a transparent cream when applying to skin and has a smooth and pleasant contact.

The encapsulation also reduces or even prevents cross reactivity between the sunscreen compounds and the packaging material and between the sunscreen compounds and any other component present in the composition, thus enhance the compositions stability.

Any sunscreen molecule, moiety or particle may be used in the present invention. The sol-gel matrices may be particles in any shape, 0.01-100 microns in diameter, or they may be thin films, thin coatings or in the form of a monolith.

    Abstract: A process for qualitative or quantitative determination of a reactive chemical contained in a liquid sample by forming doped sol-gel glass pellets from a metal alkoxide, arranging the porous doped sol-gel glass pellets in a glass tube, contacting a liquid sample containing a reactive chemical with the porous doped sol-gel glass pellets contained in the glass tube, and measuring a length of a stained portion of the glass tube resulting from a color change in the sol-gel glass pellets. The sol-gel glass pellets are formed by a gelling step conducted at room temperature in the presence of a colorimetric reagent dopant which produces a color change in the presence of the reactive chemical, and a drying step conducted at not greater than 41.degree. C. The doped sol-gel glass pellets contain the colorimetric reagent dopant encapsulated therein and the encapsulated colorimetric reagent dopant is color changeable in the presence of the reactive chemical in the pores of the doped sol-gel glass pellets.

The doped sol gel glass is formed form a metal alkoxide and contains a compound encapsulated therein which is reactive with the reactive chemical in the pores of the doped sol gel glass. In another embodiment, a process for analyzing a gas sample containing a reactive chemical comprises passing the gas sample through glass capillaries or tubes containing porous doped sol gel glass pellets. The pellets are formed from a metal alkoxide and contain a colorimetric reagent encapsulated therein which is reactive with the reactive chemical in the pores of the pellets.
