Abstract: A method for detecting fraudulent use of a payment media using a transit server includes receiving, at a transit server, an input from a payment media as part of a payment transaction at a first transit fare vending machine. The input includes an account identifier associated with a payment account of the payment media. Authentication information is received and an authentication request is communicated to an issuer of the payment account. The authentication request includes the account identifier. Information indicative of improper use of the payment media is received from one or more of a second transit fare vending machine or the issuer of the payment account. A determination is made, based on the information, that the payment media is being used improperly. An improper use alert is communicated to an enforcement authority. The improper use alert includes identification information related to the payment transaction.

The method may also include providing the selection to a transit system and receiving, from the transit system, a code based on the selection. The code may include an amount to be tendered for the selection to be added to the virtual account. The method may further include providing the code to the particular retail system and receiving the transit product or the stored value amount on the mobile device from the transit system. The transit product or the stored value amount may be received upon the transit system receiving an indication from the retail system that the amount was tendered for the selection.

The main passage includes a seat sized to hold an orifice plate for restricting the transfer of liquid to a flow suitable to produce a pressure drop. An orifice plate retaining element contacts the orifice plate to maintain the orifice plate on the seat, and has a locking element to prevent unlocking during use.

The chamber receives the pieces from the device through the inlet and issues the pieces through the outlet. A motor driven mixing auger positioned in the chamber between the first and second ends rotates a selected direction about a rotational axis to intermix the liquid and pieces. The auger includes a first helical flight between the inlet and the outlet to convey the pieces from the inlet to the outlet when the shaft is rotated the selected direction. The auger also includes a second helical flight between the first flight and the second end to urge the solid pieces in a direction opposite the first flight.

Also included is a mixer body defining a chamber with an inlet and an outlet and one or more liquid input ports in fluid communication with the second pump to receive the mixture. The chamber receives solid pieces through the inlet and discharges the pieces through the outlet. One or more rotary conveying members are included that are positioned in the chamber to intermix the mixture and the solid pieces and convey the solid pieces from the inlet to the outlet. These members can be rotated by one or more drivers. A process and system for treating cinders are also disclosed.
