  • Patent number: 11944380
Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein relate to systems, methods, and devices to facilitate mass vision screening of individuals. An example method includes capturing a first image of an individual and confirming an identity of the individual based on the first image. In response to confirming the identity of the individual, the method may further include capturing one or more second images of an eye of the individual; determining one or more health metrics of the individual based on the one or more second images, and transmitting, to a remote device, the identity of the individual and the one or more health metrics of the individual. The one or more health metrics may include at least one of a pupillary distance of the individual, a pupil size of the eye of the individual, a complete refraction of the eye of the individual, or an alignment indicator of the eye of the individual.

  • Publication number: 20180355382
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions and methods for utilizing a large capacity cloning vector (e.g., BAC) to carry a large exogenous genomic DNA (about 10-300 kb) flanked by a proximal and distal regions (10 kb) to efficiently insert into the genome of a cell in a CRISPR/Cas9-stimulated homologous recombination. Methods and compositions for microinjecting a large human gene into a mouse zygote to prepare a genetically modified mouse are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20110040266
Abstract: Compositions of zolpidem, and methods for their manufacture and use for treating insomnia. The compositions are formulated as oral sprays for transmucosal absorption of zolpidem. The methods of treatment in some cases involve night-time dosing administration to achieve therapeutic zolpidem blood levels within 20 minutes or less, tapering off to less than 20 ng/ml within less than five hours, in some cases less than four hours, post dosing.

  • Publication number: 20050273994
Abstract: A method for producing a single-clad or multiple-clad product includes providing a welded assembly comprising a cladding material disposed on a substrate material. Both the substrate material and the cladding material are individually selected alloys. At least a first edge of the cladding material of the welded assembly does not extend to a first edge of the substrate material and thereby provides a margin between the first edges. A material that is an alloy having hot strength greater than the cladding material is within the margin and adjacent the first edge of the cladding material. The welded assembly is hot rolled to provide a hot rolled band, and the material within the margin inhibits the cladding material from spreading beyond the edge of the substrate material during the hot rolling. In certain embodiments of the methods, the substrate material is stainless steel and the cladding material is nickel or a nickel alloy.

  • Patent number: 5595349
Abstract: A continuous flow, rotary processing apparatus for horizontal transport of material at a predetermined rate. Material from an infeed conveyor enters a continuous system including at least one rotary drum operating about a horizontal axis. Each drum has a perforated circumferential wall with lateral lifters to induce flow and tumbling motion to the enclosed material. A flow control mechanism at the discharge end of each drum controls residence time of the material being processed. Material is fed and discharges from each drum through axial openings in which the flow control devices are mounted.

  • Patent number: 4699548
Abstract: A slurry conveying system including a pressurizable tank into which particulate material is charged. A discharge opening enters the tank bottom and fluidizing water is directed upwardly through the discharge opening into the tank. The discharge opening is centered in a landing which has a diameter greater than 1.5 times and no greater than five times the diameter of the discharge opening. Arching of particles at the opening is prevented due to the landing and fluidizing water. The tank is emptied by the combination of air under pressure and a water rinse immediately after the fluidizing is accomplished.
