  • Publication number: 20080113993
Abstract: This invention pertains to active barbituric acid analogs which inhibit HIF-1 activity (e.g., the interaction between HIF-1$g(a) and p300) and thereby inhibit angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, and proliferative conditions, such as cancer. The present invention also pertains to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, and the use of such compounds and compositions, both in vitro and in vivo, to inhibit HIF-1 activity, and to inhibit angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, and proliferative conditions, such as cancer.

  • Publication number: 20080020147
Abstract: Apparatuses (201) and methods for electrostatically applying a powder material to substrates are described. A plurality of platens (202, 203) are provided, each arranged to hold a plurality of substrates such as solid dosage forms (101, 111). Each platen (202, 203) is driven around an endless path and passes through a loading region (FIGS. 3, 4) in which substrates are loaded onto the platens (202, 203), a developing region (FIGS. 5, 6) in which the powder material is applied to the substrates, a fusing region (FIG. 7) in which the applied powder material is fused, and an unloading region (FIG. 8) in which substrates are removed from the platens (202, 203).

  • Publication number: 20070240976
Abstract: An apparatus for electrostatically charging powder material and supplying it to an applicator for electrostatically applying the powder material to solid dosage forms includes a mixer for mixing a sump of the powder material to electrostatically charge the powder material, the mixer including two substantially parallel elongate mixing shafts having oppositely angled mixing paddles thereon and being arranged to rotate in opposite directions; and a feeder for removing the electrostatically charged powder material from the sump and supplying it to the applicator, and a method for electrostatically charging powder material and supplying it to an applicator for electrostatically applying the powder material to solid dosage forms.

  • Publication number: 20040051978
Abstract: An apparatus for use with an optical scanning or observation system. The apparatus comprises a drawer for receiving, in use, a sample carrier to be scanned or observed. A first clamp member, engages, in use, with one surface of a sample carrier in the drawer. A second clamp member is arranged to engage, in use, with the side of the sample carrier opposite to that of the first clamp member, the second clamp member having an optical window formed therein to enable viewing, in use, of a sample carrier. The first and second clamping members are arranged in use to move the sample carrier out of engagement with the drawer so that the sample carrier is supported solely on the clamping members.
