  • Patent number: 11928632
Abstract: A method of deception detection based upon ocular information of a subject provides a video camera configured to record a close-up view of a subject's eye. A cognitive state model is configured to determine a high to a low cognitive load experienced by the subject. An emotional state model is configured to determine a high to a low state of arousal experienced by the subject. After asking a question, the ocular information is processed to identify changes in ocular signals of the subject. The cognitive state and emotional state models are evaluated based solely on the changes in ocular signals where a probability of the subject being either truthful or deceptive is estimated for a binary output.

  • Publication number: 20240053914
Abstract: A method for providing a coresident copy of external container data, that includes identifying, via a cluster storage manager, an access request to a cluster storage for external container data, where the access request is sent from a container executing on a first host, making a determination that the external container data is not stored on the first host, and based on the determination, copying the external container data from a second host to the first host to provide the coresident copy of the external container data.

  • Publication number: 20230125593
Abstract: Techniques are provided for securing data storage by slicing swapped data portions into data fragments and shuffling a physical storage location of the data fragments. One method comprises obtaining at least one data item; dividing the at least one data item into a plurality of data portions; swapping respective positions of at least two of the data portions of the at least one data item; slicing the plurality of data portions, following the swapping, into a plurality of data fragments; and shuffling a distribution of the data fragments across a plurality of storage nodes in a storage system by moving at least one data fragment from a current physical storage location on a current storage node to a different physical storage location on a different storage node. A predefined number of the plurality of data fragments may be needed to reconstruct the data item.

  • Patent number: 9710308
Abstract: Techniques for improved workflow for migration planning of data storage systems. For example, a method comprises the following steps. A plurality of elements representing events of a workflow are generated, wherein each element is active for a predetermined duration. A group of one or more assets to be migrated as a unit are assigned to each element. A group of the one or more assets is moved from a first element of the plurality of elements to a second element of the plurality of elements.

  • Patent number: 9195400
Abstract: Techniques for improved snapshot data management for modeling and migration planning associated with data storage systems and datacenters. For example, a method comprises the following steps. A plurality of types of representation of states of a system are generated, data from the system is imported to a first type of representation, and a second type of representation is updated, via the first type of representation, with the imported data, wherein modeling is capable of being performed in the second type of representation, and not capable of being performed in the first type of representation.

  • Patent number: 5557631
Abstract: Apparatus and method for obtaining accurate sonic input data from a metallurgical furnace, for accomplishing accurate control of a lance injecting oxygen and/or other substances into the melt. A remotely located hydrophone is placed in sonic communication with a liquid circuit cooling the lance. Sound levels and frequencies are picked up through the liquid, and transmitted to a programmable logic controller which generates control signals operating the lance. An associated real time analyzer compares the sonic signature of the input data to predetermined sonic signature data retained in memory, and adjusts lance operation through the programmable logic controller accordingly in order to operate the furnace optimally. Sonic transmission is more accurate, and the hydrophone is more protected from the harsh furnace environment due to its remote location and employment of liquid sound transmission, when compared to other microphone arrangements.
