The cutting component can include body portion and a fastening portion that extends from the body portion. The fastener portion is shaped to slidably mate with the adapter slot of the adapter plate. The fastening portion can be shaped with a first portion located at the interface between the body portion and the fastening portion, and a second portion located further from the body portion than the first portion and shaped wider than the first portion. The difference in width between the first portion and second portion, allows the cutting component engage with the adapter plate from within in the adapter slot and resist to resist working loads with material during operation of the machine.
