  • Publication number: 20110239829
Abstract: A ratcheting wrench having ratchet structure, a ratchet body, a socket wheel, a plurality of ratchet teeth and at least one pawl. The ratchet body is received into the ratchet structure and is rotatable about a first axis. The socket wheel is received in an aperture in the ratchet body and includes a plurality of tool members that are spaced circumferentially apart from one another about a second axis that intersects the first axis but is not coincident with the first axis. • Patent number: 7971758
Abstract: A motorized caulk gun has a housing which receives a plunger. The plunger is disposed adjacent to caulk cartridge which is received in the housing. The plunger is movable in a first direction to discharge caulk from the cartridge. A first and second plate moves the plunger rod in a direction to squeeze caulk from the cartridge. A first and second cam act on the plates via a cam follower such that the plates alternately engage the plunger rod to drive it in a forward direction to squeeze caulk from the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 7886637
Abstract: A universal socket that forms around a fastener to drive the fastener received by the universal socket generally includes a socket housing including a circumferential wall that defines a chamber having an inner periphery and an opening. The inner periphery extends through the socket housing along a longitudinal axis. A plurality of pin members is operable to be disposed in the chamber. A plate member has a first surface and a second surface that define through holes formed between the first and second surfaces. The through holes accommodate a cross-sectional diameter of a middle portion of the pin members but each of the through holes is too small to accommodate a cross-sectional diameter of a first end portion of the pin members. The plate member is operable to connect in the chamber to hold the plurality of pin members in the socket housing. A plurality of pin cap members includes frangible connections with an adjacent pin cap member.

  • Patent number: 7661486
Abstract: A power tool has a mechanism for ejecting a battery pack which includes a receiving frame which defines a cavity to receive a battery pack. A receiving member is adjacent the cavity. The receiving member meshes with a member on the battery pack to hold the battery pack in the cavity. A biasing member is in the cavity adjacent the receiving member. The biasing member ejects the battery pack from the ejecting mechanism. A member retains the biasing member in the cavity. The member guides a portion of the battery pack meshing with the receiving member into contact with the biasing member such that when the battery pack is locked onto the frame, the biasing member is in a compressed condition and when the battery pack is an unlocked position, the biasing member ejects the battery pack from the frame.

  • Patent number: 7563061
Abstract: A chuck has a generally cylindrical body member having a nose section and a tail section. The tail section is configured to mate with the drive shaft so that the body rotates with the drive shaft. The nose section has an axial bore formed therein and a plurality of jaws is slidably positioned to engage a bit within the axial bore. Each of the jaws has a bit engaging jaw face formed thereon. One or more centering members are disposed adjacent to the jaws. The members are deformable from a first position where the members define a through passage configured to accept a bit, which has a drive shaft diameter less than a predefined diameter. The members are further configured to be deformable to a second position upon the insertion of a bit, which has a diameter greater than the predefined diameter, into the axial bore.

  • Patent number: 7475842
Abstract: A power operated tape measure enables extension of a tape via a drive mechanism, as well as retraction of the tape through a mechanical decoupling within the drive mechanism. The tape measure has a housing within which is positioned a spring-biased tape assembly, the drive mechanism and a clutch. The spring-biased tape assembly includes an annular reel onto which is wound a tape having indicia for taking length measurements. The drive mechanism includes a driving gear and a driven gear, and is adapted to engage with a bottom surface of the tape to extend the tape out of the housing. The clutch is adapted to displace the driven gear out of engagement with the driving gear and thereby decouple the driving and braking force provided by the drive mechanism from acting upon the bottom surface of the tape to permit the spring-biasing of the tape assembly to retract the tape into the housing.

  • Patent number: 7415777
Abstract: A power operated tape measure enables measuring tape extension through a drive mechanism, as well as measuring tape retraction. A tape cartridge assembly including an annular reel, a measuring tape wound onto the reel, as well as a spring coupled with the reel, and is positioned within a housing shell of the tape measure. A drive mechanism accomplishes tape extension out of the housing shell, and optionally, tape retraction into the housing shell by engaging with a surface of the measuring tape. A primary actuator initiates input on one or more switches that selectively control operation of the drive mechanism, and includes a lever arm for a user to make selections regarding tape extension and retraction. A retraction actuator is moveable by a user to cause the drive mechanism to become disengaged from the surface of the tape, whereby spring powered retraction of the tape is permitted.

  • Patent number: 7275663
Abstract: A manifold includes a plurality of inlet passages provided in fluid communication between an inlet and an outlet passage. A housing retains a pressurized gas cartridge in sealed fluid communication with each of the inlet passages. A check valve is located in at least one of the inlet passages. The check valve is biased to a closed position that prevents gas from flowing through the check valve to the inlet of the inlet passage. Thus, gas cannot exit through the inlet when a pressurized gas cartridge is not sealed thereto. The housing retains a viscous product cartridge and forms a gas enclosure separated from a product enclosure by a movable wall. The gas from the pressurized gas cartridges passes into the gas enclosure and generates a force on the movable wall to dispense product from the product cartridge.
