  • Publication number: 20240102783
Abstract: A tool, such as a tape measure, including a spring-based retraction system is shown. Various spring-based retraction system embodiments are configured to decrease the size occupied by the spring within the tape measure housing, which consequently reduces tape measure housing size providing a more compact tape measure. Various spring-based retraction system embodiments are configured to control retraction of the tape measure in a manner that reduces whip or otherwise controls tape blade retraction. Some retraction system embodiments utilize a reduction gear train, and others utilize a compression spring and a transmission system that converts rotational movement of the tape reel to axial movement, which compresses the spring.

  • Publication number: 20240094178
Abstract: In various embodiments, both very high speed and very high sensitivity hydrogen detection is achieved by controlling water vapor concentration over the catalyst used to convert hydrogen in sample gas (e.g., ambient air) to water vapor, to provide a substantially stable water vapor mixing level at a target mixing ratio. The naturally-occurring water vapor in the sample gas, without further steps, typically would vary over time within a wide range (e.g., due to changing atmospheric conditions). By controlling a level of water vapor over the catalyst to be substantially equal to a target mixing ratio that is not too low as to impair response time, and not too high as to impair sensitivity, both very high speed and very high sensitivity can be provided.

  • Patent number: 11931264
Abstract: A humeral head assembly is provided that includes an articular body and a coupler. The articular body includes a coupling portion disposed on a side of the articular body opposite an articular surface. The coupling portion includes a continuous zone of eccentricity adjustment. The coupler portion optionally includes one or more than one discrete position site. The coupler includes a first portion and a second portion opposite the first portion. The first portion is configured to mate with the coupling portion and the second portion is configured to mate with another member of a joint prosthesis. A coupling portion with the continuous range of eccentricity adjustment can be provided on a bone anchor and the eccentricity of another component can be selected by motion of a coupler, such as a tray for reverse humeral assemblies, along the coupling portion of the anchor.

  • Patent number: 11311816
Abstract: A balloon inflator for simultaneously filling two balloons to substantially identical sizes includes an air pump having a first air chamber communicating with a first inflation nozzle and second air chamber communicating with a second inflation nozzle. A reciprocating piston causes an alternating increase and decrease in the first and second air chambers to advance air to fill balloons on the first and second inflation nozzles. The volume of inflation gas advanced to the first balloon inflation nozzle is substantially identical to the volume of inflation gas advanced to the second balloon inflation nozzle, thus permitting a virtually identical inflation of a first balloon at said first balloon inflation nozzle and a second balloon at said second balloon inflation nozzle upon repeated reciprocation of the piston.
