  • Publication number: 20200284314
Abstract: Devices (1, 2), systems, and methods for reducing vibration levels of a structure over a broad range of frequencies have one or more chambers (112) that are configured to be coupled to a vibrating structure and a plurality of particles that partially fill each of the one or more chambers (112), where the plurality of particles includes a mixture of two or more types of particles of substantially differing sizes.

  • Patent number: 8167375
Abstract: The invention provides a furniture chair seatback tilt limiter system for adjustably limiting the seatback recline of a chair. The seatback tilt limiter system includes a first gear toothed rotator with a full forward seatback upright endstop and a full recline seatback endstop. The seatback tilt limiter system includes a second gear toothed rotator having an adjustment endstop. The first rotator is free to rotate between the full forward seatback upright endstop and the full recline seatback endstop when the rotator gear teeth are disengaged and the second rotator adjustment endstop limits the rotation of the first rotator to an adjustable reclined seatback tilt limit when the gear teeth are engaged.

  • Publication number: 20080060710
Abstract: A controllable magnetorheological fluid valve for controlling magnetorheological fluid. The controllable fluid valve includes a magnetorheological fluid conduit with a magnetorheological fluid path. The controllable fluid valve includes a north magnetic pole and a south magnetic pole, with the south magnetic pole proximate the north magnetic pole with a magnetic discontinuity spacer between the south magnetic pole and the north magnetic pole wherein the spacer forces nontraversing magnetic flux lines from said north pole out into the magnetorheological fluid path and then back into the south pole.

  • Patent number: 6302365
Abstract: A hanger device is disclosed which includes an attachment portion for securing the hanger device to a first object such as a door, at least one hanger portion for supporting an ornamental object such as a wreath or swag, and an intermediate member connecting the attachment portion to the hanger portion. The hanger portion also includes a plurality of support arms each having a hook portion for supporting a different part of the ornamental object to minimize relative movement between the hanger device and the ornamental object. The method of supporting the ornamental object includes securing the attachment portion to the first object, and positioning the ornamental object over the hook portions so that different parts of the ornamental object are supported by the hook portions to minimize relative movement between the ornamental object and the hanger device.
