Publication number: 20190263491Abstract: A subsea vehicle capable of supporting inspection of underwater objects while underway includes a body that provides a capability to allow the subsea vehicle to submerge underwater and follow or position near an object while maintaining an orientation to the object appropriate for inspection of, and safety requirements for, the object. The vehicle includes a set of deployable, semi-rigid arms to support the movement of inspection sensor probes near or lightly touching the inspection target with the probes. A controller helps tracks the intended inspection object using various sensor inputs along with a priori knowledge of the object to drive and position the subsea vehicle such that the appropriate orientation to the inspection target is maintained.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2019Publication date: August 29, 2019Applicant: Oceaneering International, Inc.Inventors: Jami Joseph Cherami, David Chapman, Chiun-Hong Chien, Sara Rayburn

Patent number: 10286345Abstract: A fuel filter assembly incorporates a BLDC motor and control circuit configured to operate at a first rotational speed upon startup and switch to a second rotational speed when measured variables indicate that the filter assembly is filled with fuel. The first rotational speed is initiated as a default when power is applied to the control circuit. If the filter assembly has been serviced, it must be primed before resuming normal operation. The first rotational speed is significantly higher than the second rotational speed to reduce the amount of time necessary to prime the filter assembly. The control circuit is arranged to monitor a variable which corresponds to the torque necessary to drive the pump. When the pump is filled with air prior to priming, lower torque is required to drive the pump, which corresponds to lower current draw and power consumption at the BLDC motor.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2016Date of Patent: May 14, 2019Assignee: Clarcor Engine Mobile Solutions, LLCInventors: Justin R. Pribanic, David Chapman

Publication number: 20160104125Abstract: A method, computing system and computer program product provide additional information relating to maintenance actions to address an issue with a structure. For each maintenance action that has corrected an issue, a first group of structures in which the issue has reoccurred and a second group of structures in which the issue has not reoccurred are identified. The method then determines an actual correction duration value for each of the structures in the first and second groups, generates a correction duration estimate for the structures in the first group using the actual correction duration values and uses the correction duration estimate to identify a portion of the structures in the second group. The method also uses the actual correction duration values calculated for the first group and the identified portion of the second group to generate a fix duration estimate representing an overall time estimation for issue reoccurrence.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2014Publication date: April 14, 2016Inventors: Steven David Chapman, Peter Lake, Jay Kevin McCullough

Publication number: 20140181764Abstract: One method implementation disclosed includes detecting matching leaf cells that have functionally identical designs (optionally, similar designs) and assigning matching names for the matching leaf cells to replace original, non-matching names. Optionally, digests can be calculated for the leaf cells and used to detect similarities and/or differences. The matching names are propagated to at least some higher-level cells in the hierarchical design, in place of the original names. The method can further include calculating digests for at least some of the higher level cells after the propagating of the matching names into the higher level cells. Various design matching technologies can be used in combination with cell renaming and new name propagation, not limited to use of digests. Dependency chains can be calculated to improve propagation of names through the hierarchy.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2013Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: Oasis Tooling, Inc.Inventor: David Chapman

Patent number: 8406749Abstract: An electronic device, referred to as a beacon gateway, capable of communicating an incoming call on one phone to a second phone operating on a different telecommunications network is described herein. A landline phone, voice-over-Internet-protocol phone (VOIP phone), cable phone, and mobile phone may be connected to the beacon gateway. When one of the phones receives an incoming call, the beacon gateway rings the other phones with ring tones indicative of the receiving phone. Additionally, a user can elect to make a phone call across one network (e.g., wireless) from a phone that communicates calls across a different network (e.g., landline). Moreover, a thin client operating in a mobile device is configured to handle communicating inbound calls and outgoing calls on mobile device to other phones connected to the beacon gateway.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2007Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.Inventors: Don Gunasekara, Shane David Chapman
