  • Publication number: 20060152018
Abstract: A cabinet or drawer latch composed of a catch and latch that may be molded of a plastic material and free of sharp edges that may pinch a child's fingers when the cabinet door or drawer is closed. The latch includes a bail that possesses sufficient flexibility so that it can deflect and ride over a camming surface on the catch so as to achieve a locking position with the catch. The latch may be deflected when the door or drawer is open slightly and which is permitted by the interengaged catch and latch so that the latch may disengage the catch and permit the drawer or door to be fully opened.

  • Publication number: 20050080354
Abstract: An ear thermometer has a light source to illuminate the field in front of the tip of the probe, such as the area around the ear canal, or the entire ear, to assist in insertion of the probe into the ear canal. The light source may consist of an incandescent lamp or one or more LEDs of the bright type, and application of the illumination may be controlled by a user activated switch to conserve battery life. The light source may be disposed in a raised protrusion on the housing of the thermometer such as near the top of the housing to supply divergent rays of light to the field of interest, such as the ear.

  • Patent number: 6158443
Abstract: A self-contained lice comb assembly including a handle member defining a housing having an interior cavity for holding and storing tools which aid in the removal of nits and lice and/or the cleaning of the lice comb head is provided. The handle housing may preferably support an extracting tool for removing lice and nits from the hair, such as tweezers, and a cleaning tool for removing lice and nits from between the teeth of the lice comb head, such as a brush. The brush and tweezers are removable from within the handle member during use, and are designed to fit within the handle member for storage. The lice comb assembly may also preferably include interchangeable comb heads having different length teeth for treating various lengths and textures of hair. A magnifier for magnifying hair as it passes through the comb teeth, which allows any nits or lice remaining on the hair to be easily viewed by a user may also be provided.
