  • Patent number: 7819189
Abstract: A plunger has a transmitter that produces signals as the plunger moves in a well. The signals are pulses that are produced at a constant interval. The plunger signals are detected and used to determine the location, direction of travel and speed of the plunger in the well. In addition, the location or height of the liquid level is detected as is the arrival of the plunger at the well bottom.

  • Patent number: 6000652
Abstract: A casting actuator having a slip-resistant contacting surface which flexes to accommodate the user's thumb. The casting actuator preferably comprises: an actuating lever; a support structure; a living hinge pivotably connecting the actuating lever to the support structure; and a flexible cover extending from the support collar over at least a portion of the lever. The flexible cover provides a flexible, slip-resistant contacting surface on the lever. The inventive actuator is preferably formed by an inventive method comprising the steps of: (a) placing a first material in a mold to form a unitary, molded structure and (b) while the first material is present in mold, placing a second material in the mold to form the flexible cover. The unitary, molded structure formed from the first material comprises: the actuating lever; the support collar; and the resilient hinge. The inventive casting actuator preferably includes a convex engaging surface for operably contacting a main shaft of the fishing reel.

  • Patent number: 5515640
Abstract: Apparatus for releasably attaching a tackle box (20) to a fishing pole (22) with the tackle box (20) being held in a desired position relative to the fishing pole (22). The tackle box (20) may include a container (34) a lid (63), and a handle (80). A channel (30) may be formed in one surface (32) of container (34) to releasably attach to the pole (22). The rotation of the tackle box (34) about the pole (22) may be prevented by a retainer (28). Methods of manufacturing and using a tackle box (20) are also presented.
