  • Patent number: 8881795
Abstract: The invention encompasses a temperature regulating system that includes a shell configured to be received over an outer circumferential portion of a container. The shell has dimensions to form a cavity between the outer circumferential portion of the container and the shell. A material is provided in sealing engagement between the shell and the outer circumferential portion of the container to seal the cavity from the environment. A heat exchanger is provide in fluid communication with the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20100212860
Abstract: A method for modifying the processing capabilities of a container. The method includes providing a container that defines a cavity and comprises a wall. The wall defines at least a portion of the cavity and has thermal energy transfer characteristics. At least one of the thermal energy transfer characteristics comprises a first value. Changing the first value of the one thermal energy transfer characteristic to a second value for at least a first portion of the wall, the second value being different from the first value.

  • Patent number: 5547102
Abstract: The invention is a method of preventing bulging near a sealed access door in the wall of a cylindrical plastic container. The method comprises a tension-bearing structure which wraps around the container and is forcible held away from the surface by a means which distributes the resulting force over the area of the container wall which is likely to bulge. The resulting force is higher than the force exerted by a tension-bearing structure under the same tension that is not held away from the surface. The distributed load counteracts the hydrostatic pressure within the container that would cause the container wall to bulge.
