  • Publication number: 20100306005
Abstract: Systems and methods improve the equitable distribution the processing capacity of a computing device processing work items retrieved from multiple queues in a workflow system. A retrieval priority is determined for each of the plurality of queues and work items are retrieved from each of the multiple queues according to the retrieval priority. The retrieved work items are then stored in a central data structure. Multiple processing components process the work items stored in the central data structure. The number of processing components is selectively adjusted to maximize efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20100275111
Abstract: Systems and methods analyze the physical structure of text rows in a document image, including the positions of one or more alignments of one or more character blocks in one or more text rows of the document image. The systems and methods determine one or more groups of text rows that are placed into a class based on the structures of the text rows, such as the positions of the one or more alignments of the one or more character blocks in each text row.

  • Patent number: 6039710
Abstract: An apparatus for providing facial support includes a head band, a head strap, a cheek support, a forehead strap and a nose band. The head band wraps around the top of the head and the chin. The cheek support is attached to the head band and provides support for the cheeks. The nose strap and the forehead band hold the apparatus in place on the user's face. The head strap is used to hold the apparatus on the face and to pull the cheek support into engagement with the cheeks. By applying support to the cheeks, sagging of the cheeks can be reduced or prevented.

  • Patent number: 4453879
Abstract: An anti-jam blade assembly is provided on a packer-ejector blade of a refuse vehicle. The packer-ejector blade comprises a superstructure to which there is attached a downwardly inclined face. The superstructure and downwardly inclined face are reciprocated within a refuse vehicle receptacle. The anti-jam blade assembly to which this invention pertains comprises box-like elements hingedly attached to the superstructure and the blade assembly. The box-like elements are spaced apart and hingedly attached by brackets or the like to the downwardly inclined face. Springs are used to maintain the box-like elements in upward orientation and in the same plane as the superstructure. Upon an article becoming positioned between the box-like elements and the roof of the vehicle receptacle, the box-like elements will pivot forwardly thus decreasing pressure on the article and preventing jamming of the blade assembly.
