  • Publication number: 20240079940
Abstract: A haptic actuator includes a housing having a ferromagnetic wall. The ferromagnetic wall has a set of one or more half shear ferromagnetic features protruding from the ferromagnetic wall into the housing. A movable magnet is positioned within the housing. A pair of springs, respectively attached to opposite sides of the housing and opposite ends of the movable magnet, bias the movable magnet toward a position of rest between the pair of springs. An electric coil is attached to the set of one or more half shear ferromagnetic features and positioned between the movable magnet and the set of one or more half shear ferromagnetic features.

  • Publication number: 20240079941
Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing. The housing includes a first plate defining a first wall; a cover defining a second wall opposite the first wall, a first sidewall, and a second sidewall opposite the first sidewall; and a second plate and a third plate, respectively defining a third sidewall, and a fourth sidewall opposite the third sidewall. The first, second, third, and fourth sidewalls extend between the first wall and the second wall. The electronic device further includes a movable mass disposed within the first, second, third, and fourth sidewalls of the housing; a first spring and a second spring, respectively attached to first and second opposite ends of the movable mass; and a first material and a second material, respectively joining the first spring to the second plate and the second spring to the third plate.

  • Patent number: 11423788
Abstract: A flight deck system for an aircraft includes a display device for providing a graphical interface for displaying flight-related information including a plurality of windows to an operator. The display device is configured for displaying the plurality of windows within a plurality of regions. The plurality of regions can each have a predefined shape and orientation on the display screen according to a regular grid layout. A touch interface is coordinated with the display device for receiving touch information from the operator and allowing the operator to interact with the graphical interface. A processor is communicatively coupled with the touch interface device and operatively coupled with the display device. The processor can be configured to dynamically recreate a selected window of flight-related information within one or more of the plurality of regions corresponding to an operator-selected icon. In such embodiments, the operator can operate the graphical interface through direct touch.

  • Patent number: 4707750
Abstract: An automatic flexible disk loader/copier apparatus includes a disk drive for reading data from and writing data onto flexible disks; an automatic mechanical loader for feeding disks from an input hopper into the disk drive and for discharging disks from the disk drive; a selectable format flexible disk controller which is dynamically reprogrammable to vary the format of the data written to the disks; and a computer which responds to the presence of write-protect indicators on the disks in the disk drive to load format, data and control information from the disks and which responds to the absence of write-protection indicators on the disks in the disk drive to write format and data to the disks.
