  • Patent number: 5579712
Abstract: The present invention relates to a releasable anchor for securing a boat or marine vessel to a desired position having a weighted body with a central bore extending throughout its length through which an elastic strip is pulled in such a way as to form a closed eye on one end of the weighted body and with the remainder of the elastic strip being frictionally held within the central bore of the weighted body. The elastic eye along with the weighted body may be attached to one end of an anchor line and when the anchor becomes bound by an underwater obstruction a boater may exert tension to the elastic eye by applying a pulling force to the anchor line. The exerted tension will cause the elastic strip to stretch thus reducing its diameter inside the central bore of the weighted body until the friction will no longer withhold its exit from the central bore of the weighted body. This action allows the anchor to release from the anchor line at the point of connection.

  • Patent number: 5531042
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fishing sinker having interchangeable weights. The invention comprises three basic elements, i.e. a connector for connecting the sinker to a fishing line, a sleeve, and an elongated weight. The connector may be a snap type or a snap-swivel type to connect to the fishing line. The sleeve is any material having flexibility and possibly resilience with an aperture in it to allow the elongated weight to pass almost completely through it. The elongated weight can be any common long weighty object, but is normally a common type penny nail. This is used because of the head as well as the inexpensive cost of such nails. The various sized nails are to be used for the various sized weights required for fishing as needed. The sleeve may include a fish attractant.

  • Patent number: 5411425
Abstract: A floatation unit comprised of a generally rectangular air bag, and having an inflation hose and valve, is disclosed. Four grab loops project from the four corners of the air bag, two of the corners also including hooks for engaging a water craft's gunwale, the other two of the corners including cinch straps. A pair of the floatation units is used to stabilize a water craft by engaging the hooks of each to opposing gunwales of the craft, and tensioning their cinch straps beneath the craft. A pair of floatation units is also used to displace space with a water craft, thereby reducing its likelihood of sinking if swamped. For displacement, each of the pair of units is hooked to a thwart within the water craft, and their cinch straps are tensioned between them to suspend the units securely between the thwarts. A pair of the units may also support a seat panel between them, the seat panel having corner loops through which the cinch straps pass.

  • Patent number: 5113606
Abstract: A scented lure is provided having a shaft connectable to a fishing line, a spoon lure for attracting fish visually and a bead and bearing combination between which scenting material is positioned. Additional scenting capability is provided by the use of a hollow sleeve which fits over the shaft and into which scenting material is inserted.
