  • Publication number: 20040260003
Abstract: Several general embodiments of an anti-abrasive fire retardant composition are provided, namely those comprising a plastisol binder, a polyurethane modified plastisol binder or system, or a pure urethane system modified to induce fire-retardancy. Preferably, the instant compositions of the subject invention are characterized as including a phosphate ester plasticizer, and further optionally including, alone or in combination, metallic compounds or intumescent graphite flake. It is likewise contemplated to include/incorporate (e.g., bind) ceramic (Al2O3) chips into base formulations of the subject invention to greatly enhance the abrasive character of the resulting composition or panels so fabricated.

  • Patent number: 6129967
Abstract: An extended wear-life composite wear structure particularly suitable for use as a liner in the form of modular panels, generally including a ceramic layer of spaced apart ceramic tiles, each having at least one anchor receiving structure therethrough, overlying a resilient energy absorbing layer separating the ceramic layer from a base layer, and ceramic tile anchors linking each of the ceramic tiles to the base layer via cooperative engagement with the anchor receiving structures of the ceramic tiles. This composite structure permits independent temporary displacement of each of the tiles upon a surface impact, improved retention of the tiles, and greatly enhances the overall structural integrity of the composite as the intermediate layer, layers and or structures are securedly "sandwiched" between the abrasion and impact resistant ceramic layer and the structural base layer.

  • Patent number: 4552573
Abstract: A dust suppressor apparatus for use in discharging particulate or granular material, such as grain, which includes a housing defining an internal chamber and having an inlet opening in the upper region of the chamber and a discharge opening in the lower region of the chamber. A suppressor control gate is hingedly mounted on the housing and is biased to a position preventing discharge of material through the discharge opening until a predetermined quantity of particulate material acts on the control gate to overcome the biasing and open the control gate. The control gate and is operative to exert pressure on the particulate material discharging through the discharge opening so as to enable bulk discharge while preventing egress of dust ladened air through the discharge opening. Baffle plates are provided in the chamber to reduce grain velocity within the device. The baffle plates may be independently adjustable or may be automatically adjusted upon tilting of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4055550
Abstract: A method for manufacturing partially blocked isocyanate curing agents in which a polyisocyanate and a blocking agent for the polyisocyanate are separately and continuously metered into a reaction zone in predetermined nonstoichiometric proportion under reaction conditions, and in which the reaction mixture is continuously withdrawn from the reaction zone to provide a partially blocked isocyanate curing agent product. The partially blocked isocyanate curing agent product may be continuously reacted with a polyhydroxy resin coating precursor at a temperature below the unblocking temperature of the blocking agent in respect of the polyisocyanate to provide a heat curable powder coating composition.
