  • Patent number: 10406391
Abstract: The disclosed coupling can include an elongate body having an opening at each end, the openings linked by a conduit; a valve assembly located within the elongate body. The valve assembly is movable between an open position, in which gas can pass between the openings along the conduit, and a closed position in which gas flow between the openings is prevented; a biasing assembly arranged within the elongate body to move the valve assembly into the closed position; and a heat activatable stop located in the region of each opening, operable to hold the valve assembly in the open position against the biasing assembly, and adapted to release the valve assembly to allow the biasing assembly to move the valve assembly to the closed position at an activation temperature.

  • Patent number: 8602048
Abstract: Apparatus for use in delivery of gas capable of combustion that incorporates a safety valve unit. The safety valve unit closes the flow path of the gas from the source upon occurrence of a fire. The safety valve unit has a valve body, a valve head resiliently biased towards a valve-closure position and a fusible retainer that holds the valve member in a valve open position. The valve body defines a fluid flow passage between an outlet and the valve head. Within the fluid flow passage there is an elongate link member which extends from the valve head to the foot. The foot engages the fusible retainer.

  • Patent number: 8353314
Abstract: A modular coupling system allows a combined gas canister and integral regulator to be used with a wide range of different utilizer devices such as flow meter, conservor or delivery apparatus. A first coupling part is secured to the pressurized gas canister permanently, and carries a combined main delivery valve and venting valve to allow connection of the gas utilizer to the canister by means of a second coupling part formed integrally with or attached to the gas utilizer device by a simple push and twist action which, upon fitting, closes the venting valve; and opens the main delivery valve in sequence.

  • Publication number: 20100218832
Abstract: A medical gas coupling comprises an inlet operable to couple with a pressurized therapeutic gas supply and an outlet operable to supply therapeutic apparatus, or an anallary unit associated therewith, with therapeutic gas. The coupling further comprises a conduit that extends between the inlet and the outlet and provides for the passage of pressurized gas therethrough. A safety valve is located in the region of the inlet and is operable to close the flow of gas through the conduit in the event that the pressure differential across the safety value exceeds a predetermined level.
