Abstract: A dual display assembly, which comprises a base in contact with an underlying surface; a rod unit vertically extending from the base; and two separate touch screens laterally extending from, and attached to, the rod unit. Each of the two touch screens is pivotally displaceable independently with respect to the other screen and is able to be sufficiently locked in position after being displaced to a desired angular position to facilitate touch operations therewith. The the rod unit comprises first and second concentric rods that are rotatable about a vertical axis, and a one-way mechanism that is provided within an annular space between the first and second rods for retaining a touch screen in a locked position.

Abstract: A digital multi-lateral system and method for proofreading a composition during a meeting. The system comprises a multi-screened monitor unit having a first screen and at least one oppositely facing second screen mounted in a common housing, images of a selected composition being viewable simultaneously on the first screen and the at least one second screen, a computer coupled to the monitor unit and provided with a dedicated software module for interfacing with the monitor unit, one or more primary and secondary co-author input devices, and means for transmitting signals generated by each co-author input device to the computer. Correction data is transmitted by a co-author input device to the computer, which transmits corrected image data simultaneously to the first and second screens. In one embodiment, the monitor unit receives VGA data and USB video data from the computer and transmits the same to the first and second screens, respectively.

Abstract: An establishment based advertising method and system is described. A server having a database in which is stored a plurality of advertisement software packages is in data communication with a network of interconnected computers, each of which is associated with a monitor unit. After a request for an advertisement is initiated without intervention of a client, an advertisement software package is retrieved from the database according to predetermined selection rules and transmitted to a target computer, for display on a client side screen. In one embodiment, an advertisement software package is retrieved in response to detected client movement, according to predetermined establishment related selection rules and an extracted advertisement-relevant client characteristic. In one embodiment, the monitor unit is multi-screened.

Abstract: An alert system for generating, in the vicinity of a crossing such as an intersection or a railcar station warning line, a wide-area image indicative of an actual or impending traffic safety problem, comprising at least one safety indication component for indicating a state of an actual or impending safety problem; at least one wide-area image generating device mounted in the vicinity of the crossing for generating a corresponding vertically appearing wide-area image appearing at an injury preventable distance from the crossing; fog generating apparatus mounted in the vicinity of the crossing for discharging vaporized fluid by which light of a corresponding generated wide-area image is refracted or reflected, so that the wide-area images will be visible during daytime light; and a controller in communication with the at least one safety indication component for synchronizing operation of the at least one wide-area image generating device and the fog generating apparatus.
