  • Patent number: 8196322
Abstract: A ball control portion for an article of footwear is disclosed. The ball control portion includes a plurality of protrusions that are configured to bend to provide increased surface contact between an upper and a ball, such as a soccer ball. The plurality of protrusions are arranged in an arc-like configuration on the upper that generally corresponds to the curvature of a ball.

  • Publication number: 20110243337
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for audio processing. Embodiments of the present invention may include multi-level equalization capabilities along with room optimization, crossovers, switching, automation control, and scene setting. Embodiments of the present invention may be implemented in the analog or digital realms, or both, and may include channel delays, future proof feature slots, and gain and phase inversion capabilities. The present invention may also include an audio optimization system including an audio processing system and a room correction unit. The room correction unit can cooperate with the audio processing system to generate filter coefficients. The filter coefficients are used by the audio processing system when outputting signals which are amplified by an amplifier and broadcast by a speaker to a particular room. The filter coefficients ensure that the outputted sound is optimized for the particular room.

  • Patent number: 5966432
Abstract: An apparatus and method for remotely answering a door. The apparatus includes a switch, a telephone transmitter and an a telephone receiver positioned near the door. At least one telephone station is operable to place a telephone call to a remote telephone identified by a pre-determined telephone number. An interface detects actuation of the switch and signals the telephone station to place the telephone call in response to actuation of the switch and places the telephone transmitter and receiver in communication with the telephone to establish telephonic communication between the telephone transmitter and receiver and the remote telephone.

  • Patent number: 3962864
Abstract: An energy system consists of a gas turbine engine having a power turbine which is arranged to drive a load, the exhaust from the power turbine passes to a further turbine which is arranged to drive a compressor, the exhaust from the further turbine passes to atmosphere via the compressor and a combined cooler and scrubber in which water is heated and sulphur is removed from the hot exhaust gas. The combined cooler and scrubber consists of a bed of flints through which the hot exhaust gas flows and a condenser arranged to receive a supply of relatively cool water, the resulting hot water being stored in a hot water store. The bed of flints also receives a supply of water to which calcium carbonate and manganese sulphate has been added so that sulphur in the form of calcium sulphate is removed from the exhaust gas.
