Abstract: A "normal mode" allows a hijacker to drive away but disables the vehicle after a short delay. An optional "valet mode" allows others, e.g. parking attendants and mechanics, a limited driving period that when exceeded causes vehicle shut-down that cannot be overcome without actuating a hidden switch.
