Abstract: In a combined backpack and folding chair, the chair has a camp stool base frame. A pivoting backrest is held in upright position on the stool frame by in-turned, truncated ends at the bottom of a backrest frame, which strike the camp stool frame. Alternatively, the backrest frame has a continuous bar at its bottom, which strikes the camp stool frame. The backpack is offset from the chair by clearance established in the dimension of a bridge between the backpack and chair. The in-turned ends clear the backpack by a lateral distance, by-passing the sides of the backpack. The continuous bar clears the backpack by a longitudinal distance, by-passing the rear face of the backpack.
