Abstract: The invention features methods, systems, and computer programs for generating a customized set of possible medical conditions, thereby providing access to medical information relevant to the user's state of health. The methods and systems involve at least some of the following steps: receiving a list of symptoms specified in terms selected from a first language set; translating the list of symptoms into a translated list of symptoms specified in terms selected from a second language set; using the translated list of symptoms to generate possible medical conditions, the possible medical conditions described in terms of the second language set; and translating the possible medical conditions into descriptions that are specified in terms selected from the first language set.

Abstract: The present invention provides for navigation systems for table data structures, and methods for facilitating the locating of information in a table data structure. To generate the navigation system, a sort criteria being used to organize the table data structure is identified. After identifying page delineations in the table data structure, data ranges of each page are identified based on the sort criteria corresponding to each page. The data ranges corresponding to each page are displayed on a graphical user interface to indicate to the user the content of each page.

Abstract: Customizing instant messaging communications for a first instant messaging participant includes receiving first filter criteria corresponding to an online presence state of instant messaging participants to be filtered. First information associated with each of one or more other instant messaging participants selected by the first instant messaging participant is accessed. The first filter criteria is applied to the first information for each of the other instant messaging participants to obtain a first filter result for each of the other instant messaging participants. A participant list is configured to persistently reflect a display of information about the other instant messaging participants according to the first filter result for each of the other instant messaging participants.

Abstract: A multipurpose text application which provides a user interface which provides a plurality of delivery mechanisms or actions for handling a text document prepared using the user interface. Actions can include text messaging, instant messaging, emailing, creating contact entries, creating calendar entries, creating journal entries, creating note or memos, creating tasks, and storing a draft of the text document. The user can select one or more actions before, during or after the text document is created. In addition, the network status of one or more intended recipients can be monitored to assist the user in selecting the action.

Abstract: A “buddy member match” feature is directed to matching computer users of like interests, particularly computer users who are members of an online service provider. In general, a member (the match recipient) may update or create a member profile maintained by a service provider such as AOL. Once the match recipient has a member profile, a search is initiated to identify matching members by comparing the member profile of the match recipient to the member profiles of other members. Matching members are other members whose member profiles have at least one personal attribute matching an attribute of the match recipient's member profile. When contact information of the matching member is displayed, the contact information is accompanied by an indication that the contact information belongs to a matching member.

The separated multimedia object is automatically saved to a repository for subsequent use by a user and the user is able to select the multimedia object from the repository for subsequent use.
