  • Publication number: 20190130911
Abstract: In one example of the disclosure, microphone data indicative of a user spoken phrase is captured utilizing a microphone. The microphone data is analyzed to detect a trigger phrase. A wakeup event is performed responsive to the detection of the trigger phrase. At least a portion of the microphone data is sent to the computing device for the computing device to send to a server system.

  • Publication number: 20190132694
Abstract: A wide range, non-focused listening mode of a microphone of an electronic device can be set to be selectively less than a maximal range around the device. The microphone can be operated in the wide range, non-focused listening mode to detect a spoken trigger phrase. The microphone can then be operated in a narrow range, focused listening mode directed towards a location from which the spoken trigger phrase was detected in the wide range, non-focused listening mode.

  • Patent number: 10171912
Abstract: Examples associated with analog device connection are disclosed. One example includes a control device detecting an analog connection to an audio playback device. The control device transmits a first signal to the audio output device using the analog connection. The control device selectively enables a feature of the control device when a second signal is received by the control device from the audio output device using the analog connection. The second signal indicates the audio output device is an approved audio output device for the feature.

  • Patent number: 10051367
Abstract: In one example, a portable speaker is provided. The portable speaker includes a communication interface to receive an audio file from a portable computing device, a machine-readable storage medium to store the audio file, a speaker to output sound corresponding to the audio file, and a management module. The management module is to (i) add the audio file to a queue to be output by the speaker; (ii) analyze the audio file to determine a baseline audio level for the audio file, and utilize the determined baseline audio level to normalize an audio level of another audio file subsequently added to the queue; and (iii) in response to the number of audio files in the queue decreasing below a threshold, analyze metadata from audio files previously or currently in the queue to determine attribute information, and request audio content from an Internet service provider based on the attribute information.

  • Publication number: 20180150462
Abstract: According to an example of selecting media content, user profile metadata, location data, and calendar data for a first user is fetched and a repository of available media content is accessed. Content from the repository of available media content to suggest to the first user is determined based on a usage pattern of the first user. In an example, the usage pattern may be based on the user profile metadata, the location data, and an event in the calendar data for the first user. In another example, content from a repository of available media content may be suggested based on a determined usage pattern including historical user location data and the historical user event data from a user calendar, a current time, and a current location.
