  • Patent number: 5496166
Abstract: A mold section carrier assembly is provided for use in an injection stretch blow molding machine. The assembly permits highly accurate position adjustment of mold sections on the platens of the machine, and includes a back plate on which each mold section is secured, and a pair of side rails secured on opposite sides of the mold section on each back plate. A block is provided for each side rail, and includes a planer engagement surface that is parallel to and bears against an engagement surface of the rail. A force transmitting mechanism moves each block relative to the corresponding side rail in a direction that is angled relative to the engagement surfaces in order to adjust the position of the mold section relative to the platen within a plane transverse to the support surface of the machine.
