  • Patent number: 7707661
Abstract: The present invention discloses a sanitary paper that is designed to be appropriate for dual functions: (1) as a tissue paper for wiping and cleaning by a user, and (2) as a toilet seat-cover. The sanitary paper is a folded continuous sanitary paper strip comprising detachable sections of tissue paper, where some sections are toilet seat-covers which are defined by appropriate transverse seat-cover perforation lines. Various embodiments are described regarding the folding of the sanitary paper strip. A precut bowl flap, in each of the detachable seat-covers, is provided as well. The sanitary paper strip can be made of a single or multi-ply paper. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the sanitary paper is made of a duplex paper, where each surface best serves the intended function of that surface. Additionally, the sanitary paper strip can be impregnated with various chemicals.

  • Patent number: 6218949
Abstract: A liquid level monitoring and control apparatus is described, which generates an alarm signal or a safety signal, discontinuing an operation such as heating, when the liquid level in a controlled vessel has reached a predetermined level. Several signals, similar or different, may be generated at different liquid levels. The operation of the. apparatus may be based on various physical properties, such as optical, magnetic, acoustic, electrical and conductivity properties. The apparatus comprises a floating actuator, the level of which is determined by the level of the liquid in the vessel, a sensing assembly comprising at least a member which can be actuated by the actuator, means for guiding the vertical displacement of the actuator and means for issuing the desired signal or signals when the actuator reaches a level close to that of the actuatable member. The actuatable member can be displaced to set the predetermined level of the liquid as desired by the user.

  • Patent number: 6028521
Abstract: A liquid level sensor for reducing and monitoring liquid level in a vessel, such as a heated pot or kettle is provided. The sensor issues a signal when the liquid level drops to a level below its predetermined level. The signal may initiate an audio or visual alarm, or may stop the action causing the liquid level to drop.

  • Patent number: 5156972
Abstract: An analyte specific chemical sensor for determining an analyte in a test medium. The sensor comprises a sensing surface which is coated with reversible competitive recognition units (RCRUs) each of which contains as constituent components at least one receptor and at least one ligand, one of which components is an analyte analogue. In these RCRUs the receptor and the ligand are a priori connected to each other, directly or indirectly, in such configuration that even when, for example, an analyte analogue ligand is displaced from the receptor by an analyte ligand, the analogue will still be retained in relatively close proximity to the receptor. In addition, the relative positions of the receptor and the ligand in the RCRU are such that when no analytes are present or when the analyte concentration is at a low level, they are affinity conjugated by a specific affinity interaction.

  • Patent number: 4876073
Abstract: There is provided a generator for short-lived radionuclides. The generator comprises a support, an ion-exchange agent and a parent radionuclide in a steady-state equilibrium with a daughter nuclide, which daughter nuclide can be selectively eluted from said column. A suitable parent radionuclide is .sup.191 OS in equilibrium with .sup.191m Ir. There is also provided a specific Os(VI) complex which has certain advantages.
