  • Publication number: 20240139507
Abstract: Flexible catheters adapted to be inserted into a body to deliver high-voltage, fast (e.g., microsecond, sub-microsecond, nanosecond, picosecond, etc.) electrical energy to target tissue may include a plurality of conductive layers, that may be coaxial. These catheters and method of using them to treat tissue are configured to reduce or avoid arcing.

  • Patent number: 10301772
Abstract: Disclosed are improved carpet products made using certain types of coating compositions to secure carpet fibers to a carpet backing or substrates and/or to secure one or more carpet scrims or other layers to carpet backing. The coating compositions, which can be in the form of either precoating or skip coating compositions, are made from latex binder emulsions based on interpolymers emulsion polymerized from vinyl esters, ethylene, and a multifunctional cross-linking co-monomer such as an unsaturated silane. Such emulsions are also stabilized with surfactant emulsifiers but are substantially free of protective colloid stabilizers. The multifunctional co-monomer alters interpolymer molecular weight, branching and/or flow properties such that films formed from such interpolymers exhibit relatively low elongation values.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 3, 2011
Date of Patent: May 28, 2019
    Assignee: CELANESE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION
Inventors: David J. Lunsford, Rajeev Farwaha, Joerg Ludwig Schulte, Kerstin Gohr

  • Patent number: 6359076
Abstract: A carpet back coating composition which is an aqueous emulsion polymerization product of ethylene, vinyl acetate, and a ethylenically unsaturated hydroxy-functional monomer to form an emulsion copolymer which is combined with a crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of multifunctional aziridine, multifunctional isocyanate, and multifunctional epoxide. Carpets prepared with the carpet back coating compositions exhibit improved wet strength. The improvement in wet strength is achieved by means of crosslinking reactions which do not generate volatile organic compounds as by-products.

Inventors: David J. Lunsford, John C. Leighton
  • Patent number: 5849389
Abstract: The invention is directed to carpet coating compositions which utilize an emulsion binder which is prepared by emulsion polymerization of ethylene, a vinyl ester monomer having a Tg of between about 20.degree. C. and about 45.degree. C., and an essentially non-reactive monomer having a Tg of less than 10.degree. C., and to carpet products prepared with the carpet coating compositions.

  • Patent number: 4963422
Abstract: Flocking adhesives are prepared from an aqueous emulsion prepared by the emulsion polymerization of a vinyl ester of an alkanoic acid interpolymerized with:(a) 10 to 30% by weight of ethylene;(b) 30 to 50% by weight of a C.sub.4 -C.sub.8 alkyl acrylate;(c) 1 to 5% by weight of an N-methylol containing copolymerizable monomer;(d) 0 to 4% by weight of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid; and(e) 0 to 1% by weight of a polyethylenically unsaturated comonomer.
