  • Patent number: 10780993
Abstract: A protection apparatus employed in the construction of aircraft can be collapsed to a small configuration to enable insertion of the apparatus to access openings in a structure of the aircraft, for example an access opening in a wing of the aircraft, to position the protection apparatus inside the aircraft structure. Once inside the aircraft structure, the protection apparatus can be expanded from its collapsed configuration and positioned over components in the aircraft structure, for example hydraulic tubing or electric wiring, to protect those components from damage by a worker working in the aircraft structure above the components.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 7, 2015
Date of Patent: September 22, 2020
    Assignee: The Boeing Company
Inventors: Brian M. Hass, David J. Zimmer, Christopher J. Wheaton, Jeffrey J. Ravenberg, Kelli Dawn Simon
  • Patent number: 10230564
Abstract: A single sign-on system accepts master credentials from a user device and/or application, and automatically signs on to supported services using account credentials corresponding to those services. If the user has not created an account used by a particular device or application, the system can automatically interact with the account service to create the account. Similarly, if the device or application that relies on the account has not already been registered with the account, the system automatically interacts with the account to register the device or account.

Inventors: Luhui Hu, Jonathan A. Leblang, David J. Zimmer
  • Patent number: 10011347
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for an irreversible clutch to prevent back-drive. The irreversible clutch may transfer torque and/or rotation received at a first end to a second end, but may not transfer torque and/or rotation received at the second end to the first end. The irreversible clutch may prevent unintended adjustment of one or more rudder pedals and/or a rudder pedal assembly.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9371656
Abstract: In one implementation, a handheld device for placing tile spacers includes a body that is sized and shaped for a user to hold; a cartridge enclosed within the body that stores a plurality of tile spacers; an input mechanism affixed to the body that is moveable based on application of force by the user; an opening in the body that is sized and shaped for tile spacers; and a dispensing mechanism contained within the body that, in response to an application of force to the input mechanism by the user, causes a particular tile spacer from the plurality of tile spacers to be moved from the cartridge and out of the opening.

  • Patent number: 5328940
Abstract: A radiation-curable composition containing an epoxy compound, a hydroxy-terminated polyurethane, and a photoinitiator. The curable composition exhibits a high green strength and excellent overall bonding capability and is particularly useful in laminating adhesive applications.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 1992
Date of Patent: July 12, 1994
    Assignee: Lord Corporation
    Inventor: David J. Zimmer
  • Patent number: 4358476
Abstract: Radiation-curable compositions are described comprising at least one olefinically unsaturated polymeric material, at least one unsaturated diluent monomer which is copolymerizable with the polymeric material and water. The compositions are readily cured in oxygen-containing and inert environments upon exposure to actinic or ionizing irradiation to a finish having a desired light-scattering effect.
