  • Publication number: 20180299047
Abstract: A swaged pipe fitting has a tail extending from a shoulder of the fitting. The tail having a plurality of sealing ribs to engage with a pipe as it is pushed over the tail and below a swageable collar attached to the fitting, and a threaded indication system to help the installer feel for a positive engagement and to hold the pipe securely on the fitting until the collar is swaged over the end of the pipe. The threaded indication system has one or more external asymmetric threads situated between the sealing ribs of the fitting and a shoulder of the fitting, and engagement with the threads can be felt in a plurality of ways to help the installer to make secure joints with greater consistency.

  • Publication number: 20150021906
Abstract: A pipe fitting assembly for use with pipes made of plastics materials. The pipe fitting assembly has a body which includes at least one male pipe engagement section which includes a plurality of engagement ridges. The pipe fitting assembly also includes swage collar over the or each male pipe engagement section which is secured at one end to the body and is swageable over its associated male pipe engagement section to hold a pipe securely to the pipe fitting assembly. The or each male pipe engagement section also includes at least one pipe engagement detection feature which is configured to allow relatively free movement of a pipe onto the or each male pipe engagement section, but is configured to resist movement of a pipe back off the or each male pipe engagement section.

  • Patent number: 8667994
Abstract: A plumbing fitting includes a body portion 1 which is secured to a structure such as a wall framing in use by means of a mounting means 2. An inlet means 3 is linked to an outlet means 4 by means of an internal passage in the body portion. The inlet means is adapted to be secured to distributor pipework or hoses in use and the outlet means is adapted to be coupled to a flexible hose or a tap where it projects through a wall lining. The body portion 1 can slide within the mounting means 2, if sufficient force is used, so that after the coupling is made to an extended outlet means 4 the outlet means can be pushed back towards the wall structure to assist in the provision of a neat appearance.

  • Patent number: 8606413
Abstract: A method of managing and conserving water at a point of use, by installing a control panel and at least one electrically operated valve in a plumbing line, which valve can monitor at least pressure and flow rate, and allow the calculation of the total volume of flow in a particular line. The valve being controlled by a controller programmed to prevent water loss by monitoring the pressure and flow rate in a particular line to detect and prevent water consumption outside controlled parameters by shutting off the valve if the system detects an uncontrolled flow, such as faucet being left on, or a leaky toilet cistern, or the water flow in a zone exceeding a predetermined quota.
