  • Patent number: 10891703
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for preventing unauthorized use of protected equipment in violation of export regulations are provided. Aspects include periodically obtaining a location of the protected equipment and storing the location in a location log in a non-volatile memory. Upon receiving a request to operate the protected equipment, aspects also include obtaining the location log from the non-volatile memory and parsing data from the location log to determine whether the protected equipment entered a restricted geographic area. • Publication number: 20090114658
Abstract: A float-based automatic drain valve automatically drains fluid from a compressed air cylinder; the cylinder includes a chamber with an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is formed at the top of the chamber and connects to a low point of the compressed air cylinder to receive fluid therefrom. The outlet is formed at the bottom of the chamber for discharging the fluid. A buoyant stopper disposed within, and not attached to, the chamber, seals the outlet when insufficient fluid is present within the chamber to float the buoyant stopper. Further, the buoyant stopper unseals the outlet and discharges the fluid when buoyancy of the stopper within the fluid overcomes forces seating the buoyant stopper at the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20080221573
Abstract: An adjustment device for an external fixator, which has an elongated fixator body connected to bone-pin clamps at proximal and distal ends of the elongated fixator body is disclosed. The adjustment device includes at least one adaptor for mounting to at least one of the bone-pin clamps. The adaptor stabilizes the bone-pins during an adjustment of the fractured bone to lessen the amount of pain experienced by a patient. An adjustment knob may be coupled to the adaptor and used to tighten or loosen a portion of the bone-pin clamp that facilitates rotation of the bone-pin clamp.

  • Publication number: 20080065392
Abstract: A system and method for remotely enforcing operational protocols is provided. In a remote environment, such as that found with a police environment, voice recognition technology is used to determine the situation and invoke actions according to an appropriate protocol. Actions may be set to be mandatory or discretionary. A secure log is maintained of the actions undertaken. Actions include automatically retrieving data from a remote database, automatically communicating with another unit or headquarters, and automating devices used in the remote environment. Voice recognition technology also extracts data from the user's speech and builds variables used as parameters in performing the actions. Data is returned to the user in either audible or textual form and either played to the user on a speaker or displayed on a display device.

  • Publication number: 20080002596
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for identifying nodes in a network data processing system. Cache data is received from a set of routers in the data processing system. The cache data includes an identification of the nodes sending data packets onto the network data processing system. The nodes on the network data processing system are identified using the cache data from the set of routers.

  • Publication number: 20070299549
Abstract: Disparate robotic devices can be automatically recharged and reprogrammed by self-scheduling individual time slots for the available recharging area(s) of a charging station. These charging stations provide a nest to which each robot must return periodically for power. These nests can also provide new tasking or patches for the robotic devices. The charging station and the robotic devices are both provided with communications capabilities and a protocol by which they can negotiate to find a time slot in which the device can be recharged, as well as determining a correct connector and a battery type.

  • Publication number: 20070276667
Abstract: A system and method for using semantic analysis to configure a voice reader is presented. A text file includes a plurality of text blocks, such as paragraphs. Processing performs semantic analysis on each text block in order to match the text block's semantic content with a semantic identifier. Once processing matches a semantic identifier with the text block, processing retrieves voice attributes that correspond to the semantic identifier (i.e. pitch value, loudness value, and pace value) and provides the voice attributes to a voice reader. The voice reader uses the text block to produce a synthesized voice signal with properties that correspond to the voice attributes. The text block may include semantic tags whereby processing performs latent semantic indexing on the semantic tags in order to match semantic identifiers to the semantic tags.

  • Patent number: 7302406
Abstract: The system of the present invention is a method and system that enables consumers to receive specialized product and company information on demand to aid in consumer purchases. The system of this invention can comprise a physical interface device, a consumer profile, a products and services interface, and a consumer database. Each user in the system has an individual profile the consumer can set to identify their preferences in regard to a particular product. When the consumer sends a query about a particular product, the method of the invention performs a comparison of the consumer preferences a product with objectives ratings for that product. The consumer receives a result of these comparisons with an indication of whether the product matches the preferences indicated by the consumer. A match suggests that the product is one the consumer would purchase.

  • Publication number: 20070250338
Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and computer program product for processing e-commerce information are presented. A business entity may transfer e-commerce agreements through an electronic marketplace. The business entity retrieves dependency information about a commercial transaction from an e-commerce agreement. The business entity incorporates the dependency information, e.g., dates, costs, deliveries, etc., as dependency relationships within a project model that represents a project for a product or service for sale by the first business entity. User input is received for manipulating a cost dependency relationship within the project model while constraining the user input to ensure that another type of dependency relationship is not incompatible with modifications to the cost dependency relationship.

  • Publication number: 20070225967
Abstract: A system, method, and medium for cadence management of translated multi-speaker conversations including a demultiplexer for separating a multi-speaker audio source into time-related single-speaker audio tracks, each track containing first language audio snippets; and a pause relationship model generator and manager that determines the time relationships between the single-speaker snippets using pause markers to denote beginnings and endings of mutual silence pauses, collects a translated language audio track for each of single-speaker track, transforms the original pause relationship model of the snippets, and controls a multiplexer to producing a multi-speaker audio output including the translated snippets in a manner such that they are related in time according to the transformed pause relationship model.
