  • Patent number: 7752661
Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and computer program product is presented for plugging in a standard authorization system in a manner such that legacy applications can use the authorization APIs and backend remote interfaces of a legacy authorization system. When a legacy application makes a call intended for a routine within the legacy authorization system, the call is redirected to make the appropriate calls to the APIs of the standard authorization system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2007
Date of Patent: July 6, 2010
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation

  • Patent number: 6851113
Abstract: An enhanced Secure Shell (SSH) protocol having fine-grained access security policy management and enforcement. Via an authorization application programming interface (aznAPI), remote user protocol connections and sessions may be added to the protected object space of a policy management system so that a system administrator may set permissions to access or use a particular secured system resource for each user, and by groups of users. Thus, when a user accesses the system by Secure Shell, rather than having full, unlimited use and access to system resources once authenticated, the user is granted permission to access only the system resources allowed in the security policy or policies.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2001
Date of Patent: February 1, 2005
