  • Patent number: 5377530
Abstract: An apparatus for hydrostatic pressure testing of tubular products that enables short segments of the tubular product to be individually tested under conditions simulating a capped tube hydrostatic test. The apparatus includes a first seal bladder and gripper member assembly connected to a second seal bladder and gripper member assembly by a connecting member that allows relative axial movement between the two assemblies. A fluid outlet port is provided in the connecting member to introduce pressurized fluid into the short segment of the tubular product between the seal bladders of the two assemblies. Since the first seal bladder and gripper member assembly is axially movable relative to the second seal bladder and gripper member assembly, an axial stress as well as a hoop stress will be induced in the tubular product during testing.

  • Patent number: 5037215
Abstract: A stamping device (28) having a stationary base assembly (76), a carriage assembly (52) mounted on the base assembly for stepwise horizontal movement in a first direction relative to the base assembly, and a marker assembly (34) mounted on the carriage assembly for stepwise horizontal movement in a second, perpendicular direction. The marker assembly includes a marking pin (30) vertically actuable by an air cylinder (42) for impacting the tube sheet (14) adjacent a preselected tube (16). A control system (124) sequentially activates stepping motors (60,66) and the air cylinder to produce a dot matrix character (114) on the tube sheet.

  • Patent number: 4932553
Abstract: A radiation reducing door assembly comprises a mounting bracket having hinge means affixed thereto, said hinge means defining different axes of rotation for doors of at least two types, the doors being sized and shaped to overlie at least a portion of the opening with which the assembly is associated. The door assembly also includes means for rotatably coupling the removable doors to the hinge means whereby the mounted door is supported from said bracket and may be pivoted between open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 4874041
Abstract: A nuclear steam generator having anti-vibration bars for limiting the motion of spaced heat exchanging tubes is provided with a shim located between every n.sup.th tube where n is greater than 1. The shims have a thickness equal to n times the dimensional difference (x-y) of the distance x between a pair of tubes and the width y of an anti-vibration bar between the tubes. The shim is of channel-shape and is put in position by cutting and removing the wrap-around bars from the outside of the tube bundle, inserting and expanding a bladder to spread the pair of tubes in the bundle on opposite sides of an anti-vibration bar, moving the anti-vibration bar between the pair of tubes to one side of the opening created by the bladder, inserting a shim of modular links between the anti-vibration bar and one tube of the pair of tubes and repeating the bladder inserting, expanding and anti-vibration bar moving steps to insert shims at intervals n along the bundle.

  • Patent number: 4768585
Abstract: A moisture separator reheater (10) tube support where the tubes are resiliently supported on curve-shaped metal spring members (46 or 58-64) in a manner permitting differential thermal radial and axial growth between the tube runs (26) and the support and spacer plate (30). The moisture separator reheater (10) units are used in nuclear pressurized water reactor systems.
