    Abstract: A method for producing a processed meat product begins at the supplier, where whole muscle meat is reduced into whole muscle meat pieces and the pieces may be macerated to increase their surface area. Prior to shipment of the whole muscle meat from the supplier to the meat processing plant, the whole muscle meat pieces are mixed with an initial ingredient mixture to create a raw base mixture and then packed into a container. The containers are shipped to a meat processing plant, whereby upon receipt of the raw base mixture at the processing plant, the raw base mixture is mixed with a customized ingredient mix to create a processed whole muscle mixture. The processed whole muscle mixture may then be stuffed and thermally processed.

    Abstract: A method of determining the concentration of an exhaust component in a gas turbine engine includes measuring the concentration of the selected component at a single location, and using the measured concentration in a simple equation which yields a calculation of concentration in the engine exhaust. Use of this method requires that a measurement be taken for only one of multiple combustors in an engine, but the result is valid for the entire engine. Thus, the method can reduce the cost of design and development of new combustors for gas turbine engines, since it does not require that multiple combustors be built before the engine is tested. The sampling of the component of interest is done at a point sufficiently downstream that the concentration of the component has become relatively stable. The invention also includes an engine having one or more combustors modified to include a probe, and its associate analyzer, at an optimum location.

    Abstract: A paired stage flash evaporator unit is provided with an elongated shell having respective higher temperature and lower temperature evaporation chambers extending along a bottom portion of the shell space and separated from each other by an interstage elongated partition wall. A condenser tube bundle extends longitudinally between opposite shell end walls in an upper portion of the shell space. A transverse interstage partition separates the tube bundle into separate condenser chambers. Each condenser chamber is paired with an evaporation chamber by means of shroud and other isolation structure thereby forming two paired stages in the unit.In each stage, a liquid separator mesh extends coextensively with the evaporation chamber and both condenser chambers to direct vapor from the evaporation chamber into a flow path above the mesh.
