  • Publication number: 20170333650
Abstract: An apparatus for an electronic aerosol provision system may include a replaceable cartridge for the electronic aerosol provision system or a fixed component of a re-fillable or disposable electronic aerosol provision system. The apparatus includes a reservoir for a source liquid and a carrier module supported within the reservoir. The carrier module defines an airflow path within the reservoir and includes a heating element supported in the airflow path for generating an aerosol from the source liquid and first and second mounting parts which cooperatively engage to support the heating element. The first and second mounting parts cooperatively engage at an interface which extends in a direction substantially parallel to a direction along which air flows in the airflow path when the apparatus is in normal use. A gap between the first and second mounting parts may provide a capillary channel for drawing source liquid to the heating element from the reservoir heating during use.

  • Publication number: 20170207499
Abstract: A pack for containing and recharging an e-cigarette includes: a re-chargeable pack battery; a first connector which is electrically connectable to an external power source; a first recharging mechanism for re-charging the pack battery using the external power source when the first connector is electrically connected to the external power source; a second connector which is electrically connectable to an e-cigarette contained within the pack; and a second recharging mechanism for re-charging the e-cigarette when the e-cigarette is electrically connected to the second connector. The first recharging mechanism includes a first protection circuit module and the second re-charging mechanism includes a second protection circuit module, wherein the protection modules protect the pack and e-cigarette against excessive voltage or current during re-charging.

  • Publication number: 20160249682
Abstract: An electronic vapor provision system includes a first unit comprising a battery and a second unit comprising a heater and a nicotine source for producing nicotine vapor when heated. The first unit and the second unit comprise a bayonet fitting for providing a mechanical and electrical connection therebetween. The system has a longitudinal axis, and the bayonet fitting is configured such that the first and second units are connected by relative movement thereof along the longitudinal axis to a first engagement position, and relative rotation of the first and second units about the longitudinal axis from the first engagement position to a final engagement position that prevents both (i) relative movement of the first and second units along the longitudinal axis, and (ii) relative rotation of the first and second units further away from the first engagement position.

  • Publication number: 20070069171
Abstract: A fail-safe shutter (13) for a “cross-stack” monitor, comprises a body member (14) having an aperture (1) through which, in use, an associated monitoring instrument is adapted to sight. A gate (3) is movable between a retracted, open position in which the aperture (1) is exposed, and a closed position in which the aperture (1) is closed-off by a portion of the gate (3), and means are provided to bias the gate (3) towards its closed position.
