Publication number: 20230334752Abstract: The disclosure describes a distributed, pluggable architecture for an artificial reality (AR) system that enables concurrent execution and collaborative scene rendering for multiple artificial reality applications. For example, an AR system includes an image capture device configured to capture image data representative of a physical environment. The AR system also includes a head-mounted display (HMD) configured to output artificial reality content. The AR system further includes a plurality of concurrently executing artificial reality client applications. The AR system also includes a concurrent application engine configured to control rendering the artificial reality content as a common scene that include one or more objects from each of the plurality of artificial reality applications.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2023Publication date: October 19, 2023Inventors: Denis Gladkov, Daniel Lehmann, Paul B. Menage, Clifford Merritt Boyd, Anton Vaneev, Luiz Afonso Coimbra Barbosa Silva, Mandeep S. Baines, Aaron David Lieberman, Rodney Huff, Cyril Daniel Saint Girons

Patent number: 11386990Abstract: Method, system, and program products are disclosed herein for creating a 3D model based on a plurality of received 2D medical images. Once the 2D images are received, a determination is made regarding any potential processing steps required to put the images into a standard view. Once the images are processed, a plurality of points are identified that are associated with a portion of an anatomical landmark. Various historical 2D images are then identified based on a comparison between the plurality of points. Using the historical information, a 3D image is generated of an anatomical feature of a patient.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2019Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: Smith & Nephew, Inc.Inventors: Ryan L. Landon, Daniel Farley, David Lieberman

Publication number: 20220160430Abstract: A method of generating a custom three-dimensional model of a bone is disclosed. A 2D image of the bone is obtained and an orientation and scale of the 2D image are aligned to a pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, a representative bone is identified from a library of representative bones that are aligned to the pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, an ideal view of a 3D model of the representative bone is selected. Modifications may be made to the 3D model by using additional representative bones from the library. A custom three-dimensional model of the bone is thereby generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2022Publication date: May 26, 2022Inventors: Ryan L. Landon, Daniel Farley, David Lieberman, Bilal Ismail

Patent number: 10652042Abstract: A dual-mode controller may include a communication interface between a handheld electronic device and subsystems on a computing bus or network. The dual-mode controller may operate in a “master mode” when a user directly manipulates the dual-mode controller to communicate with any subsystem(s). In this mode, the dual-mode controller may serve as a master controller and accesses and controls various subsystems on the bus or network (such as engine control subsystems, location positioning systems, navigation systems, sensors and transducers) as a master controller. In a slave mode, the interface may act as an adapter or interface between the handheld device and the subsystems.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2019Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Assignee: Keystone Integrations LLCInventors: David Lieberman, Robert Turgeon, Byron Tietjen, Greg Gardella

Publication number: 20180048486Abstract: A vehicular interface may include an electromechanical interface between a handheld electronic device and subsystems on a vehicular bus or network. In an illustrative embodiment, the interface may operate in a “master mode” when a handheld device, such as a tablet computer or smart-phone, is not inserted therein. In this mode, the interface may serve as a master controller and accesses and controls various subsystems on a vehicle (such as engine control subsystems, media controllers, navigation systems, sensors and transducers) as a master controller. In one embodiment, when a tablet device is inserted into the interface, the interface may automatically switch to “slave mode” in which it acts as an adapter or interface between the tablet device and the vehicular subsystems.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2017Publication date: February 15, 2018Applicant: Keystone Integrations LLCInventors: David Lieberman, Robert Turgeon, Byron Tietjen, Greg Gardella
