Patent number: 10032003Abstract: A medical data point of care device is configured to collect, access, store, and distribute patient medical data. The device is particularly suited for use in a mobile environment and may be particularly useful in an urgent care mobile environment, such as a battlefield or disaster area. In such environments, data transmission services may be intermittent and the bandwidth of such services may be low. The device is configured to adjust the flow of data transmission from a point of care location to a remote location so as to maximize or otherwise increase the likelihood of successful transmission of the data. The device is further configured to collect data from both a care provider and a medical device.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2014Date of Patent: July 24, 2018Assignee: SIERRA NEVADA CORPORATIONInventors: Kitty Tong, Richard J. Moss, Ashkan Moghaddam, James Rowe, Joseph T. Sanford, Brian K. Streng, Roger Andersen, David M. Howard, David C. Uhrig, Samuel Hancock, Russell B. Pillers

Patent number: 9202646Abstract: The present invention is directed to a circuit breaker lockout. The circuit breaker lockout includes a base, a screw positioned within the base and a jaw. The base has a top and a bottom. The jaw has a top, a bottom and sides that define an open center having a first length. The base is positioned between the sides of the jaw in the open center. The bottom of the base extends in the open center and the top of the base extends above the top of the jaw. The jaw slides with respect to the base when the screw is actuated to decrease the first length of the open center to a second length thereby enabling the lockout to surround the switch of a circuit breaker.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2013Date of Patent: December 1, 2015Assignee: Panduit Corp.Inventors: Marc R. Obenshain, David M. Howard, Mark J. Pfaller

Patent number: 8748759Abstract: The present invention is directed to a circuit breaker lockout device installed on a circuit breaker switch. The circuit breaker lockout device includes a first body section and a second body section. A handle extends through the first body section and the second body section. The handle includes a lockout screw with a screw head having a plurality of slots and a handle pin for engaging one of the plurality of slots. The lockout screw is turned by the handle to control the movement of the first body section and the second body section with respect to each other to engage the circuit breaker switch.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2012Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: Panduit Corp.Inventor: David M. Publication number: 20040124236Abstract: A mailing or shipping container, made of corrugated cardboard, is formed from a single scored piece of corrugated cardboard that when folded provides multiple layers of support at the corners of the box providing extra strength for protection against crushing. The container is constructed so as to permit folding in such a way as to be self locking and has pressure sensitive adhesive means applied to interior surfaces for sealing the container when folded. The mailing or shipping container has added layers of cardboard at the rear corners and added layers of cardboard at the front corners to provided increased protection from crushing, depending on the aspect ratio of the final assembled container. All layers are foldably deployed and implemented from a single sheet blank of substantially rectangular corrugated cardboard, by defining suitable scores and cuts in the blank material.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2003Publication date: July 1, 2004Inventor: David M. Howard

Patent number: 5990809Abstract: The hydrography of a land area beneath a shallow body of water is determined by driving a submersible, remotely controlled, powered vehicle along a route over the land area. The vehicle includes a chassis, a drive mechanism, a drive control module to control the drive mechanism, and a mast extending upwardly from the chassis, with the top end of the mast projecting above the body of water. A position indicator, such as a global positioning system, mounted adjacent the mast top end, determines the position of the position indicator, and transmits position data to a receiving unit at a remote location. A transmitter at the remote location transmits instructions to the drive control module to control the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1998Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Inventor: David M. Patent number: 4510936Abstract: Apparatus primarily for stimulating the auditory nerve in the vicinity of the cochlea of deaf persons to give a sensation indicative of the pitch of speech is described. The stimulus which is in the form of an alternating current of varying period dependent on the pitch of speech is applied to an electrode positioned in the vicinity of the cochlea. The current is non-zero for most of the duration of most stimulation periods and in order to elicit a stable auditory sensation d.c. baseline fluctuation is prevented by the use of a controlled current generator. The period of speech sounds is found using a specially devised circuit and a voltage related to the frequency of such sounds is determined by a period-to-voltage converter and a reciprocal circuit, this voltage being supplied as a control signal for the current generator. An alternative microcomputer version is also described.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1984Date of Patent: April 16, 1985Assignee: National Research Development CorporationInventors: Adrian J.
