  • Patent number: 9848515
Abstract: Various computing devices, thermal solutions and enclosures are disclosed. In one aspect, a computing device enclosure is provided that includes a first compartment that has a first upper side and is adapted to house the computing device and a liquid cooling device. The computing device has at least one heat generating component operable to transfer heat to the liquid cooling device. A second compartment has a lower side that includes an air inlet and a second upper side that has an air outlet. The second compartment is adapted to house a head exchanger to remove hear transferred to the liquid cooling device. A hub connects the first second compartment to the first compartment in spaced apart relation so as to leave a gap between the first upper side and the lower side.

  • Publication number: 20040021889
Abstract: A scanner device, e.g. a multi function peripheral device incorporating scan, copy and print functions, and a method of operation, in which the device is user operable to directly establish a communication link with a network server having email receive and transmit functionality, e.g. an internet server, and to transmit to the network server over the transmission link, message header data including at least an email address of a sender and of at least one intended recipient; accompanied by the scanned content of a source document scanned by the device, to the network server for transmission to the or each recipient. No intermediate processor computer processing is involved in transmitting the scanned data from the scanner device to the network server.

  • Publication number: 20030206312
Abstract: A printer driver integrates local and remote printing. A computer is coupled to a local printer. The computer also has access via a network connection to one or more remote printers or printing services. The computer may access the remote printers via the Internet or other wide area network. Using the printer driver, a user can send print jobs either to the local printer or a remote printer. Preferably, the coordination of the local and remote printing capabilities of the computer and printer driver is transparent to the user. That is, the user can initiate a print job from any authoring application (e.g., word processor) and have that print job sent either to the local or remote printer via a common user interface provided by the printer driver.

  • Patent number: 6618821
Abstract: A fault tolerant network server is described. This server has a pair of processing units, each processing unit has at least one CPU, system memory, an interface for a RAID system, at least one disk drive, a network interface, a cluster network interface, a power supply, and a case. The cases of both processing units are slideably mounted in a rack-mountable server case. The server also has a RAID system mounted in the server case and powered by two, redundant, power supplies and coupled to the processing units through isolators for blocking transactions when a processing unit has insufficient power or is being serviced.

  • Patent number: 6510211
Abstract: A facsimile machine provides firmware to remotely activate and deactivate fax forwarding. The firmware enables a user to remotely activate or deactivate fax forwarding through an email, fax, or a telephone. The facsimile machine may be set by the user to activate and deactivate fax forwarding at a predetermined activation time and a predetermined deactivation time. If fax forwarding with local printing is activated, the facsimile machine locally prints a fax after the fax is forwarded. The facsimile machine may be a multifunctional peripheral.

  • Patent number: 6407933
Abstract: A cable management system is provided for use with rack mounted devices, such as servers. The cable management system for each device mounted in the rack includes a retainer, typically mounted to the rack, and fixed to the cable. The system also includes a tension device, such as a tension reel having an extensible member, connected to the cable intermediate the retainer and the device. As the device is moved towards the retainer, the tension member pulls the cable laterally and folds the cable at the rear of the device.

  • Patent number: 6090874
Abstract: The present invention relates to a high clarity water-sensitive carboxylated nitrile rubber composition which is particularly useful in making photopolymer formulations for printing plates utilized in flexographic printing applications. The present invention more specifically discloses a high clarity water-sensitive carboxylated nitrile rubber composition which is comprised of (a) a carboxylated nitrile rubber which is comprised of repeat units which are derived from about 33 weight percent to about 77 weight percent 1,3-butadiene, from about 15 weight percent to about 45 weight percent acrylonitrile and from about 8 weight percent to about 22 weight percent methacrylic acid and (b) from about 1 to about 10 phr of at least one organic acid which contains at least three carboxyl groups. The carboxylated nitrile rubber of this invention will typically have a Mooney ML-4 viscosity of less than about 80 and a volume swell of greater than 40 percent.
