  • Publication number: 20140013904
Abstract: A ratcheting palm graspable multi-socket wrench. The wrench includes a socket body portion and a ratcheting mechanism. The socket body portion has socket portions with socket openings, arranged around a perimeter of the socket body portion. A through hole passes through from the top surface to the bottom surface of the socket body portion. The ratcheting mechanism fits into the through hole of the socket body portion. The ratchet mechanism has an elongate shaft with a ratchet switch located at a first end, and a square socket adaptor located at an opposite, second end. The ratchet switch and adaptor are both accessible from outside of the socket body portion. The ratchet switch will selective allow either clockwise or counter-clockwise twisting of the socket body portion to drive the adaptor either clockwise or counter-clockwise, with the other direction being freewheeling, thereby providing a switching ratcheting function.

  • Publication number: 20110197714
Abstract: A wrench assembly and a method of use are disclosed herein. A wrench assembly for handling one or more work pieces may include a handle, a first drive member connected to a first end of the handle, and a second drive member connected to a second end of the handle. The first and second drive members may each have a plurality of drives configured to engage and transmit torque to one or more work pieces. The drive members may include a spline configuration operable to engage work pieces having different shapes of engagement surfaces. A method of handling a work piece using the wrench assembly may include engaging one or more of the work pieces with the spline configuration of the drive members and transmitting torque to the work piece by applying a force to the wrench assembly.

  • Patent number: 7673861
Abstract: A method and apparatus for clamping a workpiece in a vise. The apparatus generally includes a stationary jaw with a first gripping surface and a moveable jaw with a second gripping surface connected and operated by a spindle. The spindle moves the stationary jaw and the moveable jaw toward and away for each other when rotated. The vise includes an actuation rod configured to engage and disengage a semi-nut from the spindle thereby engaging and disengaging the moveable jaw from the fixed jaw in order to allow an operator to quickly move the moveable jaw by hand.
