Patent number: 11932175Abstract: A mascot retraction mechanism has a support (6) movably mounted to a track (5) for movement between a mascot deployed position and a mascot stowed position. A drive mechanism (7, 34, 35) may be arranged to drive the support along the track via a releasable latch (30). The releasable latch may be released by tilting of a mascot able to enable the support to move along the track free of the drive mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2020Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: BENTLEY MOTORS LIMITEDInventors: David Molyneux, Steve Crowe, Paul Wentworth

Patent number: 11433828Abstract: A hinge cover member (20) for use with a swan neck type hinge (12) has an elongate channel shaped portion (24) for receiving the hinge arm (14) and a housing portion (13) for location about a mounting structure (18) which attaches the hinge arm to the closure. The housing portion defines at least one formation (70) for attaching an edge (72) of a trim panel (56) mounted to the closure to the housing portion. The formation (70) may be a clip which clamps the edge (72) of the trim panel. The trim panel (56 may have a live hinge (74) adjacent the edge about which the panel can flex. During adjustment of the closure (13) relative to the hinge, the edge region (72) of the trim panel is constrained to move with the hinge cover.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2019Date of Patent: September 6, 2022Assignee: Bentley Motors LimitedInventors: David Molyneux, Steve Crowe, Paul Wentworth

Publication number: 20220274536Abstract: A mascot retraction mechanism has a mascot base 10 with a non-circular outline shape which extends over and conceals a contact area with a substantially circular edge. A support 6 comprising a support surface 22 is biased into contact with the contact area of the mascot base permitting the mascot base to pivot relative to the support about the substantially circular edge. Such pivoting may operate a release mechanism causing retraction of a mascot.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2020Publication date: September 1, 2022Inventor: David MOLYNEUX

Patent number: 11293207Abstract: A hinge cover assembly (10) for a hinge having an elongate hinge arm has first and second cover members (20, 22) mountable about the hinge arm so as to completely encircle the hinge arm over at least part of its length. The first cover member (20) has a channel portion (24) which surrounds the arm on three sides and the second cover member (22) is mountable to the first enclose the arm on the other side. The first cover member (20) has locking projections (46) on the inner surface of a side wall that engage in apertures in the hinge arm. The cover assembly (10) is particularly suited for use with a swan neck hinged used to mount a boot lid to a vehicle body. A housing portion (32) of the first cover member encapsulates a mounting structure of the hinge and may have a clip formation for clamping an edge region of a trim panel mounted to the boot lid.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2019Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: BENTLEY MOTORS LIMITEDInventors: David Molyneux, Steve Crowe, Paul Wentworth

Patent number: 10883294Abstract: An adjustable hinge assembly (10) for securing a boot lid to the body of a vehicle has a mounting member (22) for attachment to the body. An adjustment member (24) is connected to the mounting member for pivotal movement about a first axis X and a hinge arm (18) on which the boot lid is mounted is connected to the adjustment member for pivotal movement about a second axis Y parallel to but spaced from the first axis. An adjusting mechanism (26) is operative to selectively adjust the pivotal position of the adjustment member (24) relative to the mounting member (22) in order to adjust the position of the boot lid relative to a body in a vertical direction.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2017Date of Patent: January 5, 2021Assignee: Bentley Motors LimitedInventors: David Molyneux, Steve Crowe, Gary David Green, Matthew Robinson, Paul Wentworth, Thirupathi Adla

Patent number: 9613321Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for establishing a dynamic meta-knowledge network. More particularly, it relates to a computer implemented system and method for charting, mapping, linking, annotating, evaluating, following, broadcasting and publishing scientific, technical, medical and scholarly information, both current and historical. In an embodiment, the present system and method may be embodied in an internet application composed of a database containing scientific publication records, scientific meta-knowledge data, and user profiles. Scientific meta-knowledge stored in the database includes knowledge contexts as well as descriptive and quantitative annotations. Author names and entities within each knowledge context category and annotation category are linked to the appropriate publications. A publication webpage is generated for each publication record, and this is configured to aggregate and present stored data and links that are relevant (and specific) to each publication.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2012Date of Patent: April 4, 2017Inventors: Sam David Molyneux, Amy Catherine Molyneux

Patent number: 6716268Abstract: A method of controlling occurrence of slugging in a riser of a pipeline arrangement including a riser base and pipeline conveying a multiphase fluid system in which the gas phase may be natural gas. The upper end of riser is connected to a separator vessel. The gas phase of the multiphase fluid system is separated from the liquid phase so that the separated gas leaves through gas outlet pipe controlled by a first valve, and the liquid leaves through an outlet pipe controlled by a first valve. The first valve regulates the velocity of gas along the pipeline towards the riser. A pressure sensor observes the gas pressure in the riser base, and if the observed pressure exceeds a predetermined control pressure value a three term pressure indication control causes the first valve to be operated to pen to an extent that increases the gas outflow through the pipe, and thus increases the velocity of gas in the pipeline to avoid occurrence of severe slugging in the riser.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2002Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Lattice Intellectual Property Ltd.Inventors: Peter David Molyneux, John Paul Kinvig

Publication number: 20030010204Abstract: A method of controlling occurrence of severe slugging in a riser (6) of a pipeline arrangement (2) comprising a riser base (8) and pipeline (4) conveying a multiphase fluid system in which the gas phase may be natural gas. The upper end of riser (6) is connected to a separator vessel (10) wherein the gas phase of the multiphase fluid system is separated from the liquid phase so that the separated gas leaves through gas outlet pipe (12) controlled by a valve (14), and the liquid leaves through an outlet pipe (16) controlled by valve (18). The valve (14) regulates the velocity of gas along the pipeline towards the riser.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2002Publication date: January 16, 2003Inventors: Peter David Molyneux, John Paul Kinvig
