  • Patent number: 6111231
Abstract: A temperature control system for electric range surface heating elements including an infinite switch electrically coupled to a surface heating element and a second switch, which selectively couples 120 VAC or 240 VAC power across the infinite switch and heating element. Alternatively, the second switch selectively couples either the infinite switch or an electronic controller to a surface heating element, wherein the electronic controller has timing circuits for cycling power supplied to the surface heating element according to a preset timing scheme within the timing circuits.

  • Patent number: 5441036
Abstract: A cool multi-section oven door for use in an oven is disclosed herein. The present invention provides a plurality of pieces of glass, preferably four, each in parallel spaced relation to each other. The spaces between the pieces of glass provide channels for air flow. To provide forced air flow, a fan is positioned under the cooktop area and the air passes through the air gaps between the individual pieces of glass, thus cooling the oven door by allowing the heat to exit at the top of the door. Additionally, heat radiating fins are located on the hinges of the oven door extend into the air flow to provide further cooling.

  • Patent number: 5174543
Abstract: A tipover prevention apparatus for an appliance includes a wall-mounted bracket which secures an appliance tether cable extending horizontally across the wall-facing side of the appliance. The bracket includes a plurality of downwardly extending hooks for removably securing the appliance tether cable, each of which hooks includes an interior relieved area in which the appliance tether cable is positioned. A pair of forwardly extending ridges located on the extreme right and left edges of the bracket impart tension to the appliance tether cable, maintaining the appliance tether cable in proper position.
