  • Publication number: 20180272976
Abstract: An assembly for a vehicle having a closure panel is disclosed. The assembly includes a sensor, a housing supporting the sensor within the closure panel between a first deployed position and a second deployed position, a link rotatably attached to the housing and a plunger coupled to the link. The sensor is operable to sense an area proximate to the closure panel in the first deployed position and in the second deployed position. The plunger is operable to selectively engage a surface of the vehicle to move the housing between the first deployed position and the second deployed position via the link.

  • Publication number: 20180149402
Abstract: Embodiments include cooling articles including a receptacle, an endothermic ingredient contained in a first capsule within the receptacle, an endothermic matrix within the receptacle, and a color indicator. The endothermic ingredient, when mixed with the endothermic matrix, generates an endothermic reaction, and the color indicator is activated upon the generation of the endothermic reaction to indicate that cooling has been initiated. Other embodiments include cooling articles including an electric circuit configured to melt at least a portion of the first capsule to enable the endothermic ingredient and the endothermic matrix to mix. Systems for providing cooling that include a person support apparatus and a cooling article including a thermoelectric device coupled to the person support apparatus to direct heat from a source region to a sink region including the person support apparatus are also described.

  • Publication number: 20180066467
Abstract: A closure assembly for a deployable sensor assembly is provided. The closure assembly includes a housing; a sensor disposed within the housing; a door supported by the housing; an actuation member operable between a first position and a second position; and an attachment mechanism. The door is movable between a closed position and an open position. The sensor is exposed when the door is in the open position. The actuation member moves the door from the closed position to the open position when moved from the first position to the second position and moves the door from the open position to the closed position when moved from the second position to the first position. The attachment mechanism is operable in a first state to couple the door for movement with the actuation mechanism and in a second state to decouple the door from the actuation mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9718414
Abstract: An assembly for deploying a device from a cavity. The assembly includes a translatable cover and a mounting surface defining an opening sized to receive the translatable cover thereover. The device is received in the cavity beneath the mounting surface and is actuatable between a first device position and a second device position. A plurality of linkages are positioned within the cavity. At least one of the plurality of linkages is coupled to a power source for actuating the plurality of linkages and at least one of the plurality of linkages is coupled to the translatable cover and to the device. Thus, when the power source actuates the plurality of linkages, the translatable cover is translated relative to the mounting surface from a first cover position to a second cover position and the device is actuated from the first device position to the second device position.

  • Patent number: 9404292
Abstract: When activated, a handle assembly selectively allows the door latch of a door of a motor vehicle to be released. The handle assembly includes a base fixedly secured to the door and a handle assembly which in its passive state has minimal to no presence in the opening chain of the door latch. The handle assembly includes a handle strap with a handle grip or activation lever which allows completion of the force chain to the latch, thus selectively allowing desired door opening.

  • Publication number: 20110078948
Abstract: A method and system for treating coal with hydrogen fluoride to remove fly ash and thereafter regenerating substantially all of the hydrogen fluoride used during the process (thereby significantly reducing the amount of HF on site). An exemplary method includes the steps of charging at least one reaction vessel with coal containing fly ash; feeding hydrogen fluoride into the reaction vessel to form a first reaction mixture of soluble reaction products, insoluble fluoride compounds and initially clean coal; separating out the first soluble and insoluble reaction products; feeding nitric acid into the same reaction vessel to react with any remaining fly ash components and separating out those second reaction products; and regenerating substantially all of the hydrogen fluoride used in the first fluoride reaction.
