  • Patent number: 5120516
Abstract: A method for removing NO.sub.x, particularly nitrogen oxide, emissions from the exhaust products of combustion processes is disclosed. An alkyl amine is added to the stream of exhaust products at relatively low temperatures in the range of 350.degree.-650.degree. C. The alkyl amine does not require a catalyst to react with the nitrogen oxides at these temperatures. Monomethyl amine (CH.sub.3 NH.sub.2) is particularly useful.

  • Patent number: 4334199
Abstract: A gas laser is described which has as laser medium, a polyatomic excimer. Such a excimer is formed in a termolecular reaction between atomic particles which are raised to a metastable state by a pulse of electrical energy and a molecule which forms a complex with the excited metastable particle when a third particle or body interacts therewith to promote the termolecular reaction. After formation in the excited state and subsequent emission of coherent radiation, the particles and molecules return to the initial species.

  • Patent number: 4303483
Abstract: The efficiencies of laser isotope separation processes based on multiple photon absorption from infrared laser pulses are enhanced thermally by raising the temperature of the gas upon which the laser beam is incident, thereby increasing the absorption and the isotopically selective excitation which enables isotopes in the gas to be separated. This same enhancement is applicable to processes for laser purification of gases which involve multiple photon absorption from infrared laser pulses.
