  • Publication number: 20240159592
Abstract: Infrared transparent constructs (e.g., infrared transparent windows) may be shaped as a dome (e.g., for an infrared detector system) and/or other desired geometries, such as portions of IR seeker domes. Electrically conductive tracing(s) may be printed in desired shapes and forms, e.g., in the form of EMI shielding, an FSS grid, an anti-static component, electrical connectors, etc., and integrated into the interior of the construct structure. The electrically conductive tracing(s) may be printed between layers of independent infrared transparent window components that are then engaged together to form a window preform. Additionally or alternatively, the electrically conductive tracing(s) may be printed between printed layers of infrared transparent ceramic or plastic material built up to form the window preform. Once formed, the window preform may be sintered, e.g., in an ultrafast high temperature sintering process (and optionally further treated) to produce the final infrared transparent construct.

  • Publication number: 20100222639
Abstract: A self-retaining bone conduction hearing device having a sound processor (104) and a nonoccluding in-the-canal vibrating component (108) responsive to the sound processor and configured for non-surgical-implantation in a recipient's ear canal. Utilizing bone conduction eliminates the dependency on acoustic stimulation, thereby enabling the hearing device of the present invention to address a wider range of sound frequencies in conductive hearing loss.

  • Publication number: 20090293345
Abstract: This invention shows how to make and use a biodiesel-based fuel in diesel engines without incurring the NOx penalty. Embodiments primarily relate to an optimum range of bulk modulus of compressibility for biodiesel blends, which results in generating “NOx neutral” biodiesel blends or to formulate biodiesel blends with lower NOx emissions than conventional petroleum diesel fuel. These biodiesel blends preferably comprise synthetic paraffinic middle distillate derived from a hydrocarbon synthesis to generate synthetic environmentally-friendly diesel fuels.
