Patent number: 11931034Abstract: A surgical instrument includes an anvil and an elongate channel. The elongate channel includes a plurality of first electrical contacts and a plurality of electrical connectors comprising a plurality of second electrical contacts, wherein the electrical connectors are spring-biased such that a gap is maintained between the first electrical contacts and the second electrical contacts. The surgical instrument further includes a staple cartridge releasably attachable to the elongate channel, wherein the staple cartridge has a cartridge body comprising a plurality of staple cavities, a plurality of staples deployable from the staple cavities into the tissue, and a plurality of third electrical contacts, wherein the attachment of the staple cartridge to the elongate channel moves the electrical connectors causing the second electrical contacts to bridge the gap and become electrically coupled to the first electrical contacts.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Cilag GmbH InternationalInventors: Sol E. Patent number: 8853401Abstract: The present application describes processes for the synthesis of morphinane and morphinone compounds, useful as pharmaceutical agents. Also included are novel intermediates useful in the preparation of these compounds. The process comprises quaternization of oripavine to provide a mixture of the R- and S-isomeric (at the nitrogen) quaternary salts. The R-isomer is readily isolated and converted to various N-(R)-morphinane and N-(S)-morphinone compounds. The R-isomer, S-isomer or a mixture of R- and S-isomers may be demethylated and converted to various morphinane and morphinone compounds.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2010Date of Patent: October 7, 2014Assignee: Brock UniversityInventors: Tomas Hudlicky, Robert Carroll, Hannes Leisch, Ales Machara, Lukas Werner, David R. Publication number: 20120305492Abstract: A rainwater collection system is described which includes generally a rainwater routing system and a collection unit. The rainwater routing system may comprise a first flush diversion unit designed to discharge to a run-off path, an initial amount of rainwater such that initial particulate matter from rooftops, etc., are not collected. The rainwater routing system may comprise a pre-treatment unit, the pre-treatment unit designed to remove particulate matter from the rainwater. The collection unit of the rainwater collection system comprises a storage tank having an internal day tank compartment. The described rainwater collection system allows for the collection of rainwater with a substantially reduced amount of particulate matter.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2011Publication date: December 6, 2012Inventors: Gregory W. Patent number: 8147688Abstract: A stormwater detention system includes a containment row for removing and collecting solids from stormwater. The containment row may be surrounded by a water-impermeable membrane, and designed to receive incoming water before other rows of the detention system. The containment row collects solids from the stormwater before the water is redirected into one or more additional rows, which are water permeable and buried in water permeable media. Filter structure may be associated with a flow system that delivers water from the containment row to the additional rows.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2009Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Contech Engineered Solutions LLCInventors: David R. Adams, Daniel W. Aberle, Daniel P. Cobb, Gregory W. Byrne

Patent number: 5020673Abstract: A carrying case for carrying personal items includes three hinged, generally planar, semi-rigid panel members having a plurality of pockets thereon to receive and hold items to be carried. The members may be folded to a folded or closed condition wherein the members overlap one another in side-by-side configuration to form a relatively compact case during transportation and storage or the members may be unfolded to an open condition to allow access to the members and to support the members in an upright position. In the open, upright position, the invention serves as a conveniently accessed dispenser for its contents. In the closed position, the invention conforms in general shape to its contents, thus taking up less space than a rigid case when not full, yet offering protection to the contents. The pockets of the case can include transparent windows so that a user can see what is in a pocket without having to open the pocket and remove the contents.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 1990Date of Patent: June 4, 1991Inventor: David R. Adams

Patent number: 4817791Abstract: A foldable, suitcase-garment bag has flexible, elongate, substantially rectangular front and rear panels secured together to form an interior, garment bag like space between the panels. The bag is adapted to be folded into three overlapping sections and secured in such folded condition wherein the bag is configured similarly to a suitcase. Bottom means are provided to act as a bottom for the bag when in folded condition and a plurality of pockets are provided in at least the front panel of the bag, separate pockets being located in separate sections of the bag when folded. The pockets located in one section of the bag are adapted to expand inwardly into the interior space of the bag when filled while the pockets located in another section of the bag are adapted to expand outwardly when filled, thereby facilitating the folding of the bag into overlapping sections.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1987Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Inventor: David R. Adams
