  • Patent number: 5078414
Abstract: The invention concerns a foldable trolley for supporting apparatus such as computers, photocopiers or other office of medical equipment while being serviced.A foldable trolley has a base having two sides each having at a top thereof a support member, connecting members connecting the sides so that they can be moved towards and away from one another, wheel members on which the trolley base is mounted, and a detachable trolley top adapted in a horizontal working position to bridge and be supported on the support members when the trolley sides are spaced apart, and in a storage position to be suspended at one side of the folded trolley base.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 28, 1990
Date of Patent: January 7, 1992
    Assignee: Kentinental Engineering Limited
Inventors: Michael A. O. Court, David R. Betts
  • Patent number: 4779878
Abstract: A trolley base has upright sides, made from frame members and base support members supported on wheels. The upper parts of the sides are slidable in the frame members to give height adjustment. A lifting device comprising an extensible strut, such as a pre-loaded gas strut, mounted in an expansible guide column, is detachably connectible to the base to substantially balance a load on the trolley and allow easy height adjustment with the load in place.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 14, 1987
Date of Patent: October 25, 1988
    Assignee: Kentinental Engineering Limited
Inventors: David R. Betts, Kurt Klages
  • Patent number: 4690417
Abstract: The invention concerns a trolley comprising a trolley top supportable on a foldable trolley base, for transporting heavy objects particularly between a first support surface and a vehicle and then from the vehicle to a further support surface. The base is foldable between an erected condition in which the sides are spaced apart and upright portions project upwardly from support portions and a folded condition in which the sides are juxtaposed and the upright and support portions lie adjacent one another. In the erected condition a locking pin, at each side, carried by the support portion projects into an aperture in the base of an upright portion to lock the two portions together. When the sides are moved to their juxtaposed positions a release pin attached to the locking pin causes withdrawal of the locking pin from the aperture to allow the upright and support portions to be relatively pivoted to the folded condition.
