  • Publication number: 20120180485
Abstract: An exhaust system for a plurality of turbines. An exhaust gas outlet is positioned on each of the plurality of turbines. The exhaust gas outlet provides a way of discharging any exhaust gas produced by a turbine during operation of the turbine. A common exhaust is operatively connected to the exhaust gas outlet of each of the plurality of turbines. The common exhaust is disposed to receive any exhaust gas produced by the plurality of turbines during the operation of at least one of the turbines. A back flow damper is positioned on the exhaust gas outlet for each of the plurality of turbines. An isolation damper is disposed on the back flow damper. The isolation damper is in fluid communication with the common exhaust.

  • Publication number: 20120185103
Abstract: A Method of controlling power generating equipment to coordinate with the demands of heating equipment and cooling equipment that are powered by exhaust gases from the power generating equipment. A feed-forward prediction is produced of the electrical power supply that produces substantially the required exhaust gas output to match the heating and cooling equipment requirements. A composite power production demand error variable is produced that combines all of the heating and cooling demand requirements that vary from the feed-forward prediction; The demand error variable is sent to a proportional integral derivative control element to generate a control variable. The control variable and the feed-forward prediction are combined to produce a setting for the power generating equipment to produce essentially only the gases required to operate the heating equipment and cooling equipment at the desired level.

  • Patent number: 6623206
Abstract: A portable speed bump unit having a plurality of speed bump cells removably and pivotally connected together to form a single PSB unit of variable length. Each speed bump cell comprises a plastic base having a rectangular footprint, a raised top surface, and a cross-sectional profile that is generally trapezoidal or semi-circular in shape. The speed bump cells are interconnected via one or more hinge bars that are pivotally connected together, thereby allowing two adjacent speed bump cells to be folded together such that an entire PSB unit can be rolled up for easy retrieval, portability, and storage purposes and simply unrolled to an extended position for deployment and use. Alternative embodiments of a portable speed bump unit incorporate safety features, e.g.

  • Patent number: 6409418
Abstract: A tire deflating blade system is disclosed having a plurality of tire deflating blade system modules that can be adjacently and pivotally connected together to form a tire deflating blade system of variable length. Each tire deflating blade system module comprises a base being generally rectangular in shape and having an end profile that is generally trapezoidal in shape. One or more blades are permanently disposed in the base and are rotatably connected to a shaft that runs longitudinally through the base, such that the blades can be moved between a retracted position for storage and an armed position for deflating tires upon the longitudinal movement of the shaft. The blades are very strong having a plurality of sharpened edges and at least two points. A cover plate is positioned over each blade to ensure safety while handling and storing the device while the blades are in the retracted position, thereby preventing anyone and any thing from being cut by the blades.

  • Patent number: 4649575
Abstract: A toilet seat cover made from expanded polymer foam sheet material has an elastic tape secured to the curved edges of the cover with no tape secured to the rear flat edge. The cover is held on a toilet seat by the elastic curved edges.
